I had a spare disk I wanted to use for backups. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I gave this a shot. I am glad I did. It is extremely easy to use; it took me a minute to install the disk and to start using it. Definitely recommend.

Very compact and works flawlessly with WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB Internal PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s. Installation was a snap. It performs well and very stable. I used the enclosure for back up and to prepare for a drive replacement. The SSD was a replacement for my Laptop which has been repurposed to run Zorin OS.

Great little enclosure. USB 3 cable provided. No tools needed, easy installation and removal of drives. Drives fit snug and hold in place well. Sleek looks and particularly like the small, unobtrusive activity light compared to some enclosures with large bright lights. Highly recommend.

I recommend if you're in need of a rapidly ready external hard drive enclosure that you can open easily to switch hard drives and Etc to get the previous version of this. This hard drive enclosure is very tough to even open and very tough to install any HDD/SSD. I have purchased several of these and it's always the same. I have to use a tool to get them opened initially to even be able to get it opened to install any drives. The previous version of this enclosure was perfect.This version I would recommend only for those that are going to want a more robust secure HDD Enclosure this is for you.Pros: It works great this farCons: Very tough to open at any time and very tough to get any HDD/SSD installed.

I can't complain with this unit. It supports valid usb 3.1 transfer speeds (depends on drive of course). the SSD sits surprisingly snug in the case with the foam siding. the top locks on very well. this makes having an external drive very easy to carry around. from experience, the drop protection is very good as well.

This is the fourth such case and the fourth different type I have purchased. This one is HANDS DOWN the best one I have purchased so far.The drive stays put due to two foam strips along the inside rail of the half that contains the HDD. The cable is of higher quality, too.The best way to put this, I WISH I HAD FOUND THIS ONE FIRST, because now I have a nice looking, higher quality external HDD, another ‘OK’ looking external HDD, and two cheap, flimsy external HDD sitting at my desk.At least I can tell them all apart, I guess.

This external drive does everything it's supposed to do. I bought this external solution after I invested in a 4TB SSD for all my video games. I already had a gaming laptop that I took with me when I went out so I could game on the go if I wanted. Sadly I broke a ribbon cable inside my gaming laptop that connected to the separate game drive in the laptop so I was down to only the M.2 main drive which was a puny 256 GB NVME SSD. Which was insanely fast but lacked the storage I needed, plus I wanted to be up and running as quickly as possible. So I put all my games on the massive (relatively speaking) 4TB SSD via my desktop, I then shut down my desktop, removed the games SSD and plugged it into this external drive, plugged this external drive into my gaming laptop, turned it on and like magic, all the games that I installed on the drive via my desktop were able to be accessed like a normal drive. I have not tested the speeds of the SSD inside the external enclosure but from me playing a couple of games on my laptop the loading times were applicable to the load times on my desktop.This external enclouse is amazing and will be my go to enclouse until the time comes to retire it

I've used similar Ugreen 2.5 drive enclosures before, and I bought this one after noticing that it was described as a "newer model". The features are only slightly different, but this model has a bright orange rubber/silicone "tag" sticking out of one end. I have no idea what purpose this tag has, except to make the product look uglier. The LED on this model is very small and hard to see, while the LED on the older model was more prominent. The shape of this product is slightly curved on the top and bottom, which I don't understand at all. It should be flat to ensure maximum contact with whatever surface it is resting on to reduce the chances that it could slip, slide, or fall. The curved bottom reduces the stability and serves no purpose other than to allow the enclosure to wobble.Still these are a good quality product and very nice to have around for times when you might need to access a 2.5 drive without mounting it to internal SATA/power connectors. If you have spare laptop hard drives laying around after upgrading to SSDs, this will turn them into functional and useful external backup drives. If you need to clone a laptop drive but have only one drive bay in your laptop, this will help you make the transition.Unless you specifically need the new technical features of this model over the older model, I would buy the older model to avoid the strange, pointless, and ugly design elements and save yourself a little money in the process.

Be aware that there a few variations now. Mine is USB3.0 with the silicone pull loop.Worked perfectly, the drive jams in well (interference fit). Was recognised and usable by my corporate laptop which normally forbids-by-policy so they must not have mapped this bridging device yet.Looks good, appears so much more professional than loose connections and chained cables. Less of a headache than a drive caddy, since one size fits all. Worth the extra dollars over the naked adapter, which is still good.The wrapping pouches are a little too delicate. It would be great if these were *seriously* re-usable.

Straight forward, all plastic affair. The chipset is recognized by Win 7 & 10 with no problems whatsoever. Indicator light is white in color. Transfer speed is decent, limited by computer's ability more than anything.

Great product, works well, easy to use. Would buy again.
