Best All-around Use
Initially, I had purchased and tried the lithium ion battery for lights requiring batteries. Unfortunately, I found the lithium ion did not hold a charge when using them with lights. Lithium battery charge only lasted a week to 10 days. Accordingly, I ordered the NiMH-batteries and I’ve been pleased thus far. The charge level indicators in my devices, show the charge status and I have used them in lights, flashlights, and battery operated trash cans. So far so good! And the real important feature is that they are rechargeable for up to at least 500 times. I consider this a good investment overtime with substantial savings over the throwaway alkaline batteries. So far I have worked only with the D series, but expect to expand the C and AA sizes as well. With reference to the charger, I recommend the EBL, which is specific to their EBL batteries and is versatile in that this charger can recharge numerous EBL batteries as required.

These are the very best of rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. Very high capacity. Very low self discharge, and long lived.

Some of these may go bad quickly, however...
In a batch of 28 batteries, I've had 3 go bad in less than 10 months. Overall, I like them, but this level of failure is something I a little trouble giving a recommendation for these batteries. Fingers crossed that EBL replaces them under warranty.Update: I updated to 4 stars. Overall these are still great batteries, but they can go bad in small numbers and if in Warranty, EBL will replace with very little effort. Best customer support I've seen in a long time.

Hit or miss with these, but….
Ordered a 6 pack of EBL D rechargeable batteries , and out of the 6, only 3 are taking a charge. The other 3 are dead and will not charge. Ordered these batteries to use in 2 mag lites (3 D batteries each flashlight). I put them all in and they worked , but 3 of them died and won’t even charge on their very first time being recharged. Had these less than 2 months. Unbelievable.Edit: I contacted EBL directly, and they replaced my bad batteries, with no questions asked. I was sent a new set of replacement batteries within a few days, and their customer service representative even followed up with me, to ask how my replacement batteries were performing. I was incredibly impressed with the way EBL handled this. Thanks EBL!

Money well spent
I have a very old C. Crane AM FM SW, it's almost 40 years old, and it looks and operates the same way that it did when I unpacked it years ago. It came with a set of C, Crane Batteries (re-chargeable) and I augmented them with a new set of EBL. Batteries (rechargeable). These batteries have a reputation for long life, dependability, and safety from malfunction (leakage) even in areas that have hot and humid weather. I am not saying whether of a jungle in Brazil, but within reason. I have 100% confidence in my EBL batteries, and when used as prescribed I am looking forward to many years of use. Thank You

Batteries last a long time
EBL rechargeable batteries are very good. Capacity better than any other NiMh I have tried.

Longer lasting than I expected
These batteries get it done. I put them in a Battey powered fuel transfer pump---pumped over 60 gallons and they are still going strong. Changing out alkaline D cells can get expensive if you have a device that draws a lot of juice. These batteries are just what I needed -- I would suggests charging them before use.. They were not topped off when they arrived
