It's just not my thing and I support my favorite authors by verbally telling people about a book or ...
Let me start off by saying I rarely write reviews for books. It's just not my thing and I support my favorite authors by verbally telling people about a book or author I read. That being said, there was no way I could NOT write a review for Curtis. I have been a fan of Nicole Edwards since I first came across Kaleb, the first book in the Alluring Indulgence series, over a year ago. I quickly went through the next few brothers whose stories were already written and then waited impatiently for Sawyer, Braydon and Brendon's stories. After the final brother met his HEA, I was saddened to think I wasn't going to see these characters in anything new. When I first heard that there was a book coming out about the boys' parents, Curtis and Lorrie, I didn't know quite what to expect, but I pre-ordered anyway. Due to several other books in my que, I didn't start reading Curtis until now.The first word which comes to mind for Curtis is 'brilliant'. Nicole Edwards is a freaking genius! At the end of the book there is a note from the author where she mentioned she hated finishing the book and wished she could stay in the story forever and that is exactly what I felt as a reader. Curtis and Lorrie's story captivated me in a way I hadn't been in a very long time, despite reading many a book I've loved. I found myself slowing down and savoring each page when I realized I was about 3/4 of the way through the book. I didn't want it to end.The way the story is written in 4 parts, starting in the present and then flashing back over 50 years in present tense, combined with Lorrie's diary entries was absolutely amazing and so well written. Their story is one of love, heartache, joy, fear, betrayal, relief, and most of all, passion. I was surprised (due to the brothers' stories) that there was no sex scenes for basically the first half of the book, but, damn, did they make up for it in the second half. Those scenes burned up my kindle. The story spans over 50 years from the time Lorrie showed up on the Walker family's doorstep, at the tender age of 14, looking for Curtis Walker because her father told her too. What follows is a love story that will have you captivated (yes, I know I used that word twice now, but that is the best word to use). While you don't need to read all 7 brothers' stories prior to this as it is can be read as a stand-alone, I think knowing Curt and Lorrie's relationship and approval of each son and their significant other made this story even more enjoyable than if read first. If you haven't discovered Nicole Edwards yet, I strongly recommend you do because I'm sure you'll fall in love with the Walker family as much as I did. (And I'm so glad to know the Walker stories will continue with the boys' cousin Jared.!)

Eternal Love
Nicole Edwards hit it out of the park with this book. She is one of my favorite authors so I always one click her books. She has an easy to read writing style with plenty of details and hot scenes. This book is a spin-off of her Alluring Indulgence Series but let me be clear you don't have to read that series to read this series. If you love this book and hot alpha males that are amazing please read the Alluring Indulgence Series because you won't be disappointed but back to Curtis.Curtis and Lorries love story captures the reader from the very first page. The story starts in the present with the reader being thrown into Curtis' worry and undying love for his wife. We are then brought back into the past where it all began. I love how we are given glimpses of the events that take place from both Lorrie and Curtis pov. It's just the right amount of intrigue to keep you turning the pages. It's truly amazing to see how love can last a lifetime. This story seems so real, like it could be any of our parents story. It's not the fairytale love and life. It's the real life story of how marriage isn't always easy but with love and family life can be so much more. It's totally apparent how much Curtis and Lorrie love each other from start to finish even when it wasn't easy. The line that sticks out the most is " you are my love that lasts a lifetime." Brilliant! You will not be disappointed by reading this book. It's the perfect book, love, family, hot sex, and it makes you truly believe love can conquer all.

The best Nicole Edwards Book to Date
12:00pm March 15, 2016 I turned on my Kindle and there it was CURTIS.... I was up for the next hours reading the best story that Nicole Edwards has written to date. Why you ask?If you have read any of her Alluring Indulgence series ( read all of it awesome!) and even Club Destiny ( advise is to read all of these too) because yes the Walkers spill into that series as well, you will understand the power of Curtis and Lorrie Walker. The many lives they have touched and so many of us have wondered and asked author Nicole Edwards time and time again about HOW DID IT ALL Start and boy did we get our answer and it is so good.In true Walker fashion I can say that the Walker boys ALL followed in their dad's foot steps. The apples sure did not fall far from the Walker tree. LOL We see where Lorrie gets her amazing strength and all her love.I have to say be sure to have tissue when you read this book as it had me in tears about a third of the way in and I was glad I had a box with me. This is a wonderful beginning to the start of a new series Coyote Ridge but my no means is it the end of the Walkers. I am sure we will be meeting up at the Club from time to time and you know Curtis and Lorrie will have their hands in the pies so to speak of the lives of the family whether they are children, grandchildren, cousins or adopted into the family.Nicole Edwards wrote a book that is so moving it brought me to tears, sexy it had some of the hottest scenes she has written and heartwarming...it made me feel like I was part of the Walker clan.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to everyone even if you have not read any of her books yet get this book....I promise you will love it and be hooked on her as an author. I know this is one book that will be read time and time again. It is just that good. (NOW MS Edwards how about you publish the diaries as a book hint hint)

Love me some Curtis and Lorrie!
I have read pretty much all of the Walker Brothers’ stories and have loved them all! While reading those stories I couldn’t help but to fall in love with Curtis and Lorrie! I mean, they are undeniably, two of the coolest parents ever! I was super excited to find out we would be getting their story and I loved every minute of it! It was a beautiful story and gave perfect insight as to why they were who they were and just made me love them all that much more.I will say after reading this book it is quite clear where the boys get their filthy mouths!!!!! Who knew Curtis could rock those pages like that lol…..

BEAUTIFUL STORY!
It was a treat to read the story of Lorrie and Curtis, the start to the Walker family legacy. This story pulls at the heartstrings but it also has elements of humor and hotness. The boys may think they have cornered the market on romance and hot sex but they have nothing on their parents! From the time they were just in their early teens, Lorrie and Curtis fell in love and just knew their destinies were entwined. Married at such a young age they really were too young for marriage and all that entails. In light of that Curtis joins the army and is gone for 5 years. During his absence Lorrie matures to a beautiful young woman and once he returns, the pair finally consummates their marriage....both still virgins. They go through 15 years before their first of 7 boys is born and their story up to that point is wonderful to read.Bravo to this book and it's author! I highly recommend!

A lifetime of love
This may be my favourite Nicole Edwards book yet ........I feel so guilty for saying that because I feel like I'm cheating on all her other work which is also outstanding!!Oh my goodness where to begin with expressing my feelings about this story? There's only really one word to describe this book and that's EPIC !As I read the Walker brothers series I had this niggling hope that Nicole would pen a story about the parents of the family. I had so many questions and theories running through my mind about this couple and when I heard my prayers had been answered that Nicole was in fact releasing the story oh well the term excited doesn't cover how I felt. I have looked forward to reading it for so long (from about the release of Travis in my head I was wanting this book) and I was not disappointed one bit. From the very start I was ensnared by the pages. The budding relationship between the characters had me gripped and the romanticist in me fell head over heels into a perfect fairytale. Not only did the writing produce wonderment, heart skipping pure love and awe there's also plenty of giggles along the way, with also a splash of gut wrenching heartache too - a mix blended to perfection. As the story begins in the 1960's there's an air of history and nostalgia weaved throughout that you feel like you've actually been transported back to that time, this is due to the amazing scene descriptions that Nicole delivers.Without giving spoilers (which I never do in reviews) there's only one thing to say - GO CLICK THIS BOOK !Believe me you won't be disappointed and as for a rating ..... He'll even 50 stars wouldn't be enough!!!Thank you Nicole for sharing this story, you made this readers dream come true.

Disappointing - covers just the first 15 years of their 52 years of marriage
Three years ago I read Nicole Edwards first novel „Convicton”, fell in love with those characters and her writing style which included the description of the various jobs, the interaction with friends, and some hot sex scenes. The same applies to the Alluring Indulgence series. So I was very interested in Curtis’ and Lorrie’s story and the development from farmer to owner of various businesses.I was utterly disappointed. The story which forms the framework takes place in a hospital where 67 year old Lorrie is fighting for her live while her husband, her sons with their significant others and children, and other relatives camp out for weeks in the waiting room. The lovestory covers just the first 15 years of their 52 year long marriage. The lovestory is told from the readers point of view and Lorrie’s diary, as both have dates as captions you have to pay close attention which POV you are reading, the wavy fond is not helping either. Well, their relationship develops slowly, it is well written. They marry, shortly live together, and then Curtis enlists and is sent to Germany where is trained as a mechanic. So far so good, but then it gets boring: Lorrie is alone, nothing happens except inner monologues, he comes back, they have sex, sex, sex, he works - probably on the farm - , she cleans the house, sex, sex, sex, finally children, one page for each: “I looked at… and knew he would be brave/ caring/ handsome/…./….. Then the story is back in the hospital and - end.The reader learns neither about building Walker demolition, about the farm, or the garage the Walkers own as we know from the AI series nor about the boys growing up.There were way too many and too prolonged sex scenes going on for my taste, so I started skipping. Those in Edward's early books were by far better.

I love Curtis and Lorrie
I have been waiting for this story after reading The Alluring Indulgence series and meeting the Walkers. This story is where it all began. This story is Curtis and Lorrie's story, the parents of Travis, Sawyer, Kaleb, Brayden and Brandon, Ethan, and Zane. The story spans more than fifty years and is written using narrative, letters, and diary entries and it was a wonderful way of telling it. It starts from when Lorrie and Curtis had their first actual meeting and conversation and goes right through to the current day. After reading the prologue, I knew it was going to be a journey and one that I wasn't so sure it wasn't going to have me bawling my eyes out and hating the author. Thank God that didn't happen, the hating the author bit. Actually, I think I fell in love with the author a bit more.Curtis and Lorrie have suffered through a lot in their marriage but they truly do have a love that lasts a lifetime. I am so glad this is book one in the Coyote Ridge series because I am hoping it isn't the last we see of the Walker family.
