Kitchen - 8" Chef Knife - Blade Blank - Chef Maker(tm) Line

Knife is sharp and ready to use, almost. I would compare the blade to my higher dollar chef knife. Easily slices thin cut tomatoes and other veges. The only thing you have to do is prep it for installing your own handles. Easy for a basic woodworker to do. I honed the blade edge with an extra fine water stone for final ultimate sharpness.Does make a great gift.I do recommend this blade for a beginner woodworker or bladesmith to learn basics of knife making. I will probably buy a couple more down the line for Christmas and newly wed gifts.

I was a little skeptical of the hollow grind for a chef knife, but after testing the complete knife, I happen to like it a lot! It’s kind of like a middle ground between a cleaver and chef knife.I removed one star because my blank arrived warped. I simply blue-backed the spine with MAPP gas and straightened, but a flaw nonetheless.

Bought this and made my own oak handle. Gave out to my brother for Christmas. He loves the knife for his kitchen.

Okay, came sharp but I did strop it to take to next level. Put osage orange handles on it and it's pretty good. 440c pretty standard and better than most knives in this price range

I really loved working with this knife, for its price it's amazing. Not perfectly straight on the tang but it got fixed easily.
