Perfect for an upcoming trip!
I am planning to take my dogs on a backpacking trip in June and stumbled across the idea of "doggie packs". I was planning on carrying their supplies myself but having a handful of liters of space between (a large pack and a medium pack) them means they can carry their own supplies and water! I'm starting early on training them with packs, which is why I bought these in February and March, so I'm hoping to work them up to about 15% of their body weight by the first of June. The packs seem to be sturdily built and the stitching holds fast. Some reviews mention the buckles breaking--they are plastic side release buckles. They are not quick release or sturdy plastic although they could be swapped out easily for new, stronger buckles. I'm going to see how they hold up to walks in the park and hikes before changing them out. Why change something if it's not broken? The compartments either fully zip closed or have a velcro closure. The velcro closures are on the outside so I'm not sure how much use they are considering they won't hold much. Both the main compartments of the medium and large hold a collapsible 5 cup/40 oz bowl--the large with room to spare for a water bottle or another bowl and the medium with enough room for a sandwich bag or two of dog food. The fabric is canvas so it's strong but will tear if it sees enough rogue branches/toenails. I'm going to try my hand at waterproofing before we go to give the material some extra tensile strength plus...waterproofing. A nice idea on a hike.We have a German Shepard (large bag) and a Smooth Border Collie (medium bag). The large bag fits the GS well with the chest strap almost as loose as possible and the stomach straps with a few inches of overhang. The medium bag fits the Collie well in the chest and first stomach strap but the second one (closest to the hind quarters) is cinched up all the way and is still too loose. I don't know if it's because the Collie is male or what but I'll need to fold over and stitch the buckle strap for a tighter fit. Overall, 5/6 straps with a perfect fit is a good product in my book.Every dog will react differently to wearing these. The GS loves hers and couldn't care less she's wearing it. I think she knows she'll be going on an adventure so she's more excitable when she has hers on. The Collie (we adopted him at a year and a half old) is scared and is very timid when wearing his. I don't know if he's never been exposed to something like a backpack before or if it's a previous bad experience but with enough positive reinforcement, I'm hoping he overcomes his aversion.Overall, I would highly recommend these bags whether you're going to upgrade them or leave them alone. The price can't be beat and the quality is beyond similarly-priced bags and even higher-priced bags.

Broke before I even got to use it BUT Customer Service is Excellent and once repaired, works great!
I bought this for my 95 pound lab, who is a big guy and the ideal/average weight for his size, however even with the straps tightened all the way it was still a little lose. The first time I used this bag I packed a 24 oz bottle of water, a plastic bag, a collapsible rubber bowl and small bag of dog food on one side. On the other side I packed another 24 oz bottle of water and my poncho (folded up and in it's bag). Put the pack on my dog and drove to the trail head... The bag broke as my dog jumped out of the car. The front strap came completely off (where it was sewn to the bag). I only had enough room in my pack for one water bottle and I had to carry the other in my hand and leave my poncho in the car (really glad the rain held off).I plan to cut down the straps a bit and use some heavy duty thread to sew all of the straps to the bag.----EDIT-----After I posted this review I was contacted by Customer Service and offered a refund, which I accepted.I didn't bother to reach out initially because it is usually such a hassle getting anywhere with most companies AND getting to the post office to mail back a package this size for us 9 to 5-ers (who live in a rural areas) is nearly impossible. Lesson learned, what a great way to do business, I upped my initial 2 star review to 4 stars.----EDIT----I used leather thread to secure all of the straps to the pack and have been using this pack on a regular basis for the past year. My dog loves it, loves wearing it and it has held up very well. Excellent value!

Stitching was horrible and cheap
Front strap ripped after 4 days. Stitching was horrible and cheap. Good thing I know how to use a needle and thread...0 stars if I could.

Great quality and design
Great quality and design, but much much smaller than expected. Bought the largest they have, but couldn't even get it over his head. Able to modify with a makeshift chest strap extension, but it lost some of its looks appeal. The ID pocket angle is awkward and ID falls out easily (?maybe because of the size of the dig??,).

Moose loves his new pack!!
I purchased the big dog size for my one year old 65 pound semi-buff boxer, Moose. It fits and looks great, although we did have to adjust the straps under his lean belly to their tightest possible size. The chest strap was a little odd, we had to extend it to its full length to fit his chest width. Once adjusted, this pack fit awesome!!! We are avid canoers and randomly leave our pup at home. Now he comes with us and carries some supplies! I would certainly recommend this pack for its stylish look, durrability, and large carrying capacity. The price is great too. Not waterproof, so be fare warned, but with some water wicking spray and a full night to soak, the material does great for everything we need.

Good quality, great value
The backpack was great and fit my German Shepherd well. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the amount of time it took to ship, but still a great product.

Loove it.
Love it. We have a 1 yr old Leonberger (considered giant dog) this backpack fits him well with room to grow. The interior side pockets have enough room for two bottles of water and collapsible water dish. The two zippered pockets on one side are great for holding keys\cellphones etc.I was rather worried as our last pack lost a zipper and would not hold anything when he shakes. THis one with the zippers on the top are sturdy and would still keep his water inside.

A little big but overall a good product
A little on the big side but is very adjustable. Make sure to evenly distribute weight. It is possible that the front could irritate the dogs front leg but it shouldn't be an issue if you have it adjusted correctly.I have not had any issues with the straps or clasps.
