Recommended by my podiatrist
After visiting my podiatrist addressing my plantar fasciitis, he recommended this type of shoe. He said he and his son both found them to be great as is (with no aftermarket insole) for comfort and preventing plantar fasciitis flare ups. I used to swear by Superfeet insoles, but putting them in my last pair of shoes (Saucony), my flare ups came back. He said it was probably due to too much arch support with that type of shoe PLUS the Superfeet insole...which was too much. With these Asics, so far so good. The factory insole is very soft and comfy for my heels.

Not as comfortable as the reviews led me to believe.
For the price, I am fairly disappointed in this shoe. I bought them to use as new running shoes (I run for fun and do 5k, 10k, and half marathon races a couple times per year) based on MANY online reviews from various sites I have trusted in the past. Before actually running in them, I decided to wear them on a few fairly long walks (4-5 miles each) and then to work one day (I work on my feet all day long, logging approx 6-7 miles daily, plus many flights of stairs). During the first few long walks, I noticed a little soreness, but I chalked that up to breaking in the new shoes. By the time I wore them to work, however, I realized that these shoes were never going to be my new "running shoes." Although they look good, the soles have very little give and, by the end of the 8-hour workday, my knees and back were feeling the pain of wearing a poor-supporting shoe. I'm left with a pair of shoes that I can really only wear for long walks and for style (they do look nice), but not for running (the reason I bought them) nor even for work. I could have spent far less on shoes that serve those limited purposes. The lesson here: running shoes are best purchased when you can actually try them on in person.

Fantastic shoe
After wearing these shoes, every day for 10+ hours per day for 27 days I will say, this is the best pair of shoes I've ever worn. I work in manufacturing on an assembly line. 6, sometimes 7 days a week standing and walking without a lot of time to sit. I tend to gravitate towards Asics because they usually provide quite a lot of performance for not a lot of money. I try to stay in the $50-$60 range for shoes because they get worn out too quickly to keep replacing more expensive shoes. The insoles are like walking on clouds and the toe box is very roomy. Great grip in the wet, no experience with ice yet but I'm sure they'll be acceptable. My bottom line,Buy them. I'm going to buy a few more pairs so I have a stockpile for when they're inevitably discontinued.

Toe Box too small for me
First pair of ASICS, so I ordered my normal Size 12 and I found the toe box to be small, and had to have that area stretched (freezing bags with water method), since I had worn them a few days and were not sure if they were returnable. I normally wear Size 12 in New Balance and other athletic shoes, and 11.5 in FootJoy golf shoes, so this SMALLER toe box came as a surprise (especially since another reviewer specifically stated the Toe Box was larger and with a great fit. Would have given a 5 Star if the Toe Box was more comfortable. I should have returned the size 12 and reordered size 12.5. Or maybe ASICS are not for me. Even with stretching, still not totally comfortable, so may take them to a Shoe Repair for more stretching.

A great shoe by a great shoe company
The weight of my shoe (sz.15) is very light and very supportive too. I have worn ASICS for a long time now but did not have the money for the Kayano’s this time so I bought a cheaper model. A fabulous shoe despite the lower price. Very happy with these even at my jogging weight of 245 I have plenty of padding and comfort. Fits normally.

Decent, but not excellent, running shoe
I've been running for 12-13 years, and I've generally ran in New Balance and Asics exclusively. Recently, I've returned to Asics, and I have a few pairs. These are decent, but they're my least favorite pair of Asics. The support is fine, the fit is fine, the material is okay, and they're well-made by a good shoe company, but you get what you pay for (as compared to, say, Gel-Nimbus line). Less support in the toe box and slight mis-sizing mean that the very front of the shoe sometimes curls up onto my toes, which can hurt in the gym or when sprinting. Fine for cross-training, biking, and jogging.

i am comming back to asics as ...
... as Japanese are perfectionists. I am trying all models, cheap and expensive.cheap lack the support as these, toes box drops providing no toe support, cheap insole, or expensive that are so shallow that it feels as I will lose it as I run.I've been using one style for 15 years. as all sellers ran out of it I try different models and ask Asics why? rhetorical question. why do you have to fix what is not broken?

Buying Shoes Without Trying Them On Is A Mistake
When will I learn??? I've bought numerous pairs of Asics in the past. All the same size, but also all the same model. this time I tried a new model (the Excite 6) and the results are not good. This shoe is very short(?) across top causing a constant uncomfortable pressure regardless of how loose they are laced. Hopefully they will stretch a bit. I dont recall the return policy, but for now I will consider a $50 lesson learned.

Lower calf strain.
I was looking for a road running shoe that would give my 58 year old knees maximum support and cushioning. These appeared to be just the thing given the reviews. They are supportive enough,( not as much as I wished) and I developed a 'out of the blue' calf strain within 4 runs with these shoes. It may not be connected, however my previous running shoes offered no such issues.

Great brand, great fit, great price
Have really weird feet due to having talipes from birth and always need 4e fitting. These are great and are a great price from a top brand. Been wearing them daily as now have arthritis in the talipes foot and my knee. Very comfortable and so far so good on durability.

Very quick delivery as and as described. I have only ran a couple of 5ks in them so far but very comfortable and light with no tightness around the ankles.
