Don't buy a Jawbone until they get their act together.
Got this over the summer and loved it at first. The tracking app is pretty great, good for motivation, extra insight into your patterns, etc. however the band just wasn't designed to last. After a month or so, I could never get the clip to stay in place. Even with the added piece that slides up to keep it closed, it would get looser and looser as the hook section slid down the band allowing the band to unclasp. I found myself constantly adjusting it after the first month, and this was with proper cleaning. If that had been the only problem, I'd have given the band a solid 3-4 stars.Fast forward 5 months and the band is completely unusable. The buckle/loop as they call it broke through the plastic so there is no way to actually keep the band on your wrist. Shouldn't be a problem, since it's within the 1 yr warranty right? Wrong! I tried calling the company and got a recorded message that they can't be reached by phone and I should email. Emailed multiple times and only got a robot message saying someone would be in touch with me. That was weeks ago. Customer service isn't bad, it's non-existent. I checked online, and I'm not the only one with this problem. Bands are breaking everywhere and the company isn't honoring warranties. I even read that the reason you can't get them by phone is because they couldn't pay their customer service contractor. Everything I've come across has me pretty sure I won't be hearing from the company about my band. Really sad, since I thought the technical aspects of the product and app were good. Maybe the company will sell to someone who can work out the materials aspect of things.

Love my Up3
Very happy upgrade from the Up. I prefer the Jawbone software to others, including the fit bit. The only thing it is lacking from the fit bit is the little screen that will show heart rate and/or caller ID. I love the style and appearance of the one I purchased, which is a silver/dark one. However, I currently am shooting to get an average number of steps per day, between 3000 to 5000 on top of water aerobics rather than 10,000 steps I used to push for, due to joint pain and foot/heel pain when I walk. I love step counting and find it motivating, but when walking is painful, it is just disheartening. Right now my Up band is used primarily for accountability so I track my sleep and diet and make sure I do reach a good number of steps per day to stay heart-healthy.

Ugh, if Only
Jawbone, you make me want to cry. I love your App SO much. I love it more than other fitness bands apps. But your bands are no bueno.the quality is poor - I went through 3 different bands in one year and sadly, this week I broke down and bought a Fitbit. IF ONLY you made the wrist band detachable from the main housing. I was happy to see that you finally fixed the clasp with an extra clip. Before it used to fall off during the day or when I slept and I had to constantly keep picking it up or searching for it. But that wasn't enough. THE BAND - It's rubber - it degrades - there's no way around it. And once the band falls apart, you can only keep it in your pocket to track your movement for so long before you get fed up. So sad. This could have really been a longer term relationship but I just can't do it anymore.

I liked it while it worked...
I liked it while it worked. I bought it in July and started wearing it right away. I chose the UP3 because of the small form factor, the move reminder, and the sleeping data. I know none of the activity trackers are truly accurate so I'm not too worried about that (just added 10% to what I really wanted to hit on my steps to get closer). I really liked it for a while, then the battery started to need a charge more frequently. When it got to the point that I was charging it about every 3-4 days (4 months after I bought it), I contacted Jawbone support. They quickly replied with a list of troubleshooting activities and said that if those didn't resolve the issue, they would process a warranty replacement. It took a few days to get through the list and in the meantime Jawbone support sent me a follow up. I thought, "This is great. I'm really impressed with their support group." When none of the activities resolved the charging issue, I replied to the case email with all of the information requested in order to process the warranty return...and I have never heard from them again. I replied to the email a few more times and even created a new support case (in case the first one had been closed) and nothing. I tried to call the phone number included in the email and got a recording that said that phone support was unavailable (but should be resolved shortly). I'll try again and update this review if they actually do come through, but for now, my experience with Jawbone is really bad hardware quality and horrible support.

Faulty latch, comes lose and falls off wrist
I love the jawbone Up - when I have it! This is the problem... The first one I had UP24 went dead the first time I wore it in the shower even though they profess to be water resistant. I bit the bullet and bout the upgraded UP3 because I am particularly interested in my sleep patterns. I bought it Black Friday and it is already "gone." I noticed several times that the "latch" would slide open and I caught it a couple of times falling off my wrist. Well - 2 days ago I noticed it was no longer on my wrist. I was traveling and I know for sure it was on when I was on the plane as it buzzed me twice for "inactivity", but the next morning I realized it was missing, and the problem with the "find your UP' selection is it only points to the last time it was synced (which, it would only sync when I logged onto the app and selected sync - it was not "automatic") I know it is not in that location as I know it was on me when I was on the plane. Of course I have called the airline and airport to see if it was turned in, but alas no. So, this time I will not be buying another UP and I'm actually sad about that, but not willing to spend any more money on something that I can't use for more than a couple of months each time.

Very disappointed. Looks neat but synchro issues with iPhone
Very disappointed. Looks neat but synchro issues with iPhone. Also, silicone bracelet broke after 6 months and Jawbone does not answer my emails requesting support under warranty. Avoid product and go for Fitbit.

It's not a necessary accessory to use and expensive too. The price that you pay doesn't pay doesn't provide that much of a functionality.
