Absolutely gorgeous
Wonderful statue. Highly recommend. Mine arrived fully intact, well packaged (esp considering it came from the States), and I am very happy with it.

Some serious quality issues but otherwise a pretty nice piece when viewed from a distance
I bought this statue of the goddess, Kali, for my desk at work, having been in the market for one for quite some time. Given the price, I expected a lot more than what was received; however, with a bit of care and attention, she scrubs up pretty well and is nevertheless a nice piece when viewed as a whole or from a distance. The problem plaguing this sculpture is quality control - the crown was chipped along with lots of places on the base, which is very obviously bent; drips and dribbles of dried paint make areas of the sculpture unsightly; parts are glued out of alignment; and blobs, strings, and rough patches of glue generally ruin small areas in a very obvious way - so you'll need to remedy those before putting it on display.I wouldn't advise anything so extreme as sanding or cutting unless you know what you're doing and happen to own a decent multi-surface black primer along with the matching colours of paint to touch up afterwards - simply use something long and pointy to dislodge any loose bits, and a permanent black marker pen to touch up unsightly chips and any obvious blobs and patches of glue and paint (the black will cause those small areas to recede as your eye is naturally drawn to the highlights instead).Along that same line, I would recommend using a permanent red marker pen to recolour the blood on her scimitar, as well as to add colour to Kali's tongue and the blood in her bowl - it really adds to the aesthetic of the sculpture and draws the focus to her face and away from any offending imperfections. To be honest, I'm not sure why this wasn't done by the manufacturer anyway, given that they saw fit to paint a small patch of red on her scimitar and colour her necklace thing blue, but who knows...Something that surprised me and somewhat cheapened the feel of the sculpture was the fact that Kali's scimitar and trident (and possibly some other parts too) are rubberised plastic, not ceramic, which admittedly makes a certain kind of sense given that it helps to prevent those parts from bending or breaking, but I feel that using metal would have achieved much the same and done the piece much greater justice. All in all though, with a bit of work, this statue of Kali can be made to look really nice - it's just whether or not you feel that what amounts to an unfinished fixer-upper warrants the asking price.

Just what i wanted
Excellent likeness to the Goddess. Well made. Not too big or small. One of my prized possessions.
