62-24140-04 - Rheem OEM Replacement Furnace Control Board

I have a old AC unit, after replaced the capacitor for air handler, the system been working for a few month. then control board went out. I purchased this upgraded OEM replacement control board and the installation was fairly straightforward. After replacing the board, the system started working normally again, and the AC is running as it should.

This is in fact an OEM board from Rheem. The price was phenomenal. After my in-laws were quoted $850 to replace this board by an HVAC tech (probably just wanted to sell a new furnace), I decided to do it myself. The job is very simple, and this board worked like a charm. It was a bit different than the original, but after doing some research, I realized it was the official replacement for the original.

Worked like a charm! The connectors were in slightly different places than my board but they were labeled and everything worked!. When I removed my old board I saw why it failed-- a power surge. Burned it up. Was able to bring my old AC back from the dead and not have to replace it yet. $150 vs $10k for a new unit-- no brainer.

The control board fit perfectly and the furnace is working perfectly. The installation was a breeze and took about an hour start to finish. I’m giving 4 stars because the item came 5 days later than originally scheduled which left my house without heat in that area. I would probably shop here again overall.

This fixed the AC. Instructions also in box, contact phone number. Circuit bd in gray static bag and in its own box. Follow ckt bd connection names, some positions have moved a little.

It is fine. When I get it out in I will see if it works.

My heater died and I was able to troubleshoot the problem to the control board. Local sources either did not stock, would not sell to individuals, or was crazy expensive. I took a chance on this board since it was in stock and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, my first shipment never came and seemed to be in limbo. Amazon customer service let me cancel that order and place a new one. That order came quickly and after installation, the heater was back up and running. The board is close in appearance to the defective one with a few minor differences. My part number ended in -02 and this board is -04. I assume its just a later revision. Mounting holes were in a different location, so I had to improvise to get it installed. Otherwise, it worked perfectly.
