La Sportiva Jeckyl VS Climbing Shoe

I've used these shoes for about a month and they've already stretched noticeably. Fortunately, I took some other reviewers advice and ordered a size and a half down. It takes a bit to break them in (and I expect them to keep stretching), but I'm happy with them in their current state. They feel plenty sticky for me. I'm climbing at a beginner-intermediate level and these shoes have helped me up my difficulty level by a tenth. I look forward to fully breaking these shoes in while continuing to increase my ability.

Second pair of climbing shoes after starting in the sport this past year. My first pair was the Tarantulace, which I got in a size close to my street shoe size (46.5). These I decided to downsize to a 45.La Sportiva seem to have a wider toe box, which fit my feet really well (especially since I wear minimalist footwear). After getting used to wearing climbing shoes I felt comfortable downsizing with this pair. I am glad I did since I can use foot holds I could never dream of before (no more foot rolling inside the shoe). After a couple weeks of climbing they are comfortable now, but I still take them off after every climb.Overall the performance upgrades in this model are noticeable and sufficient in terms of an all purpose climbing shoe. I'm glad that I didn't get a more expensive pair because it seems I would loose versatility and comfort. I now use my old Tarantulace pair for outdoor climbing.Did I mention I love velcro?!

sticky rubber, however edging is not as good as my tarantulas. maybe good for a more beginner climber.

I keep reading that the will stretch. I'm hoping they do. I tried the same size on in the store, the ones I got delivered are much more snug.

Great shoes if you understand the sizing of that particular brand. The shoes are made very well and of high quality.

Comfy shoe for a slipper. Like a Velcro mythos. Size it down since it will stretch like a mythos.

I went to a local REI to size out my feet for La Sportiva and then went online hunting a velcro strap shoe that was slightly more than just an all around shoe. I don't normally like ordering shoes without seeing them first but rolled the dice on these. They fit like a glove and have been excellent for getting me back into climbing. La Sportiva has always been a brand I trust and I am glad to find they still know what they are doing. Love these shoes!
