Fortinet FortiGate-100D Security Appliance with 2 Years 8x5 Forticare and FortiGuard Bundle FG-100D-BDL-900-24

Ok have to say I upgraded my home office from a Sonicwall TZ210 which at the time I purchased it several years ago was a high end device, well it cannot hold a candle to the FortiGate-100D. Bit of a steep learning curve but had it up and running in under 30 minutes on my network with the help of the cookbooks from the Fortinet website. I am getting 160 Mbps Downloads from my cable provider with ALL of the cotent filtering, gateway AV, IPS, VPN and other protections turned on. Where the sonicwall couldn't handle more than 25 MBPS with everything but the firewall turned off.Like all FortiGates this unit has all the bells and whistles, even has 2 factor token based authentication out of the box for VPN and application sign in, 2 users for free but the tokens themselves are much cheaper than other vendors products AND you do not need an additional ACE, RADIUS, or other 3rd party server on the network - its all built in. This is hands down the most robust and feature rich SoHo UTM I have had the pleasure to work with. It's faster than all the other UTM and router combos in the same price range that I tested.The downside is of course it's not as simple as a simple cable modem router and dosn't have built in WiFi but the fortiAP's are so robust I didn't mind. There is a steep learning curve so take your time and look at some of the fine books out there on FortiOS 5.x to get you started and plan before you install it. But trust me the performance of the unit is well worth the teething issues you may have at first.
