Proctor Silex Waffle Cone and Ice Cream Bowl Maker With Browning Control

I really Love this waffle cone maker! It works wonderful! I have fun making the cones and they really taste so much better than the ones that you can buy. I have not had any issues with the cones sticking to the iron at all. I take it up north with me so it is very easy to travel with! I like the fact that it comes with the cone shaper and also the bowl maker! It is all made of good quality material! It heats up quickly, so making them is really a breeze! I really do Love this little gadget!! It is fun to use!!

perfect waffle cones every time, even gluten free ones are easy, you can make all kinds of stuff to eat in this, from pizza crust crackers, taco bowls, but my favorite is coconut rolls. this was my early bday present from my husband and i love it. I love being able to make healthy safe appealing fun tasty snacks in this thing. I wish the cord was longer i have to run an extension cord, but that's my only complaint, I've made bags and bags of snacks with this and it still look and runs like new.

This waffle iron is amazing! I use this almost everyday for making breakfast stroopwaffle and sometimes snack stroopwaffles. The temperature control feature this waffle iron has is something I didnt see on other stroopwaffle iron choices. This made my decision very easy and worth it. This waffle iron is very light and small for easy traveling which makes it convenient to stuff into the car for visiting family. I have had this thing for over a year and this stroopwaffle iron has been the one I liked the most. It is so easy to clean and maintain. I simply start by wiping it with a wet paper towel to pick up and oil and crumps. Then a use a dry paper towel to dry and pick up any remaining mess. Next I wipe a little bit of canola oil on both sides with a soft brush. I then turn it on and let it hear up for a bit. When it has been heated for at least ten minutes, unplug the machine and wipe the extra oil with a dry paper towel. I perform this process every 2-3 weeks since I use it most mornings. If I use it more often, maintenance work must be done every day or every few days would be more appropiate. When using it, I use either Bisquick waffle mix, homemade cone mix (for ice cream cones and bowls) or my very own homemade oatmeal waffle mix. This waffle iron handles them well. Make sure your regular waffle mix works well. There is a little bit of steam but nothing too much to worry about. Just use it while not too close to wooden cabinets. There is only smoke if you are burning something. I personally dont like using the plastic cone maker. I have my own stainless steel cone making tools that work out much better. For bowls, I currently only have a plastic one but it works out okay. Overall, this is a great stroop waffle iron. I think it may outlast the warranty I bought for this. Some waffle irons I have bought dont make it past their warranty. I’ll try to update this review if anything changes.

This is a pretty simple to use waffle treat maker. The included recipe worked pretty well although it did start to separate towards the end. I made 8 cones, the first couple were a little too thick but still tasty. I purchased this nearly a full year before I used it during an ADHD fueled desire to make every bit of food I eat out of raw materials. This did not disappoint on that front. However, this is probably the only time I will ever use it. If you have kids this might be a fun little "project" after dinner but for most people, I don't think this is exactly a necessity for the kitchen. Think long and hard about how much you will use it and where you will store it when the novelty wears off. If on the other hand you are driven to know exactly what is in the food you eat, this pairs nicely with the homemade ice cream makers you can buy for your countertop mixer (I purchased one of those just before buying the waffle cone maker) This was easy to clean after my first use, I just followed the instructions. If I were to spend more time with it I could probably really dial in the heat and time it takes to make them. It stands up on end for storage, which should save a lot of space in its final resting place in my cabinet.

I love this waffle cone maker. It is a big improvement over the one that I had. I used the recipe included with the waffle maker and it is easy and delicious. I was able to make 9 cones or, making bowls, nine bowls. I found that just less that 1/4 cup was the perfect amount for either bowl or cone. I followed the directions and within the 2-3 minute range, I had perfectly cooked batter. Folding around the cone mold can be tricky. Definitely protect your finger with paper towels. Those cones are HOT. For me, it took four sessions to figure out a folding technique that would close the bottom of the cone. I still dribbled some melted chocolate into the bottom to prevent ice cream from leaking out. I have friends eager to try making cones, so this machine will be getting a lot of use.

Ok I've read quite a few reviews where they say it doesn't brown evenly. Ok I can agree with that to a point as I've seen that happen, BUT if you leave the batter on there a little longer the whole thing gets browned 95% or better no burning. A little longer on the iron makes for a crispier cone. I also like how easy it is to clean around the edge if a little batter overflows, as well as the cord storage underneath. The one thing I don't like is the plastic cone for rolling. For me it makes my cones too big. Also it's really hard to roll with this as the plastic is so slippery the baked unshaped cone keeps sliding off as I roll; even though I'm rolling it on a cloth. A wooden one works much better. As per the picture I put enough better to cover the iron. I get a better cone, and it's easier to roll using a wooden cone. I also tried making some bowls using the plastic bowl forms. They work well, but I found I had to either hold the bowls together or put a weight in the bowl so the form would form a bowl. The little bowl I tried something different by using a small measuring glass and the a large jar over that. Being gluten free this iron for making waffle cones takes my ice cream eating to a new level. I used to enjoy waffle cones, but now to buy them if you can find them is very expensive and 95% of the time the cones in the box are crushed. With this iron 100% are perfect and better than the ones you buy.

I’m having a great time making homemade waffle cones for my family and friends. No hot spots. Easy to use and easy to clean. Doesn’t take up too much space either.

The unit I got heats well except for the edge closest to the handle, where the batter is still raw at the end of recommended cooking time. I need to turn what I’m cooking 180 degrees to prepare thoroughly. It’s an easy ask for what I get in return, because oh my goodness is the enclosed recipe tasty! You’ll ask yourself why you settled for relatively unflavored sugar cones up until your first try at using this. You won’t settle ever again after tasting what you prepared yourself.

I love this! I am both gluten and lactose intolerant, so have found it very difficult to find affordable ice cream cones. This fills the bill most perfectly. I found a recipe online, and with the waffle cone maker, I have have an ice cream cone whenever I want. The directions that come with it are easy to understand and follow, and there is also a recipe for regular waffle cones in the instructions.
