They can be found on many doors, windows and hatches to help reduce noise, dust, moisture and vibrations. When selecting Tapes please use the following guidelines: HATS tape: provides a superior bond between the rubber seal and the application you are applying it to. This type of adhesion creates a strong moisture barrier and air tight seal. Key characteristics are high peel and shear resistance and is recommended for use for high loads of stress and force. Temperature performance range is -20°F. to +158°F. Important Installation Note: HATS Tape has low initial adhesion for easy re-positioning during installation and requires 72 hours of cure time for full bond strength. Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tape (PSA): is rubber-based adhesive. It is best used to hold the rubber seal in place to hold the seal in place while installed in a static application or compressed between two objects. May be used in some light duty dynamic applications. Rubber-based adhesives work best on aluminum, bare metal and stainless steel and has good heat performance.
