Zojirushi Sesame Seed Grinder 45 Grams

This little machine is a great way of adding (great) flavor to foods with a minimum of effort. It does a wonderful job grinding ROASTED SESAME SEEDS (either white or black sesame, but only for ROAST sesame--it probably won't work for anything else). It grinds quickly, does not clog up, and has three settings to control how finely the seeds are ground. It is easy to take apart, clean, and put back together again; your ground sesame will never taste stale. It also includes a little brush for cleaning.From a functionality standpoint, you pick it up, flick off the soft plastic spout cover, press the grind button as you wave the device over the food, and then swing the cover back in place when you're done. Moreover, you can do all of that with one hand after a minimum of practice. The result is spectacular--the taste and smell of cracked seeds are far richer than those of whole seeds--and can instantly transform otherwise uninteresting steamed veggies, rice, etc. into something memorable.On a personal note, I have a lot of Japanese cooking paraphernalia (e.g., oyako nabe, miso strainers, tamagoyaki nabe, daikon grinder, 3 x neural network / fuzzy logic-controlled rice cookers, etc.) but this grinder quickly became my favorite.Finally, please note that the alternative, i.e., grinding sesame seeds by hand in a suribachi (a specialized, grooved ceramic mortar), gets old VERY quickly. Using the Zojirushi grinder is trivially easy in comparison!

This product is great, especially the switch to change fineness of the grains. But the particular one delivered to me had a battery slot part problem. The metal piece that is supposed to touch one end of the battery was not right, so it didn't work first. My husband was somehow able to change the metal piece's angle and fixed it. Otherwise I was going to return the product.

i bought one for my mom toosesame is a very fine spice in cooking...i just love the smell of ithowever if you just use the seeds, it will use your body as a fun park ( a slide really; a joy ride)so better grind the seeds before use them in your cookingthis Zojirushi grinder is really handy, i use it for cooking dishes, baking; sometimes I just grind some on my noodles, rice, ice-cream, etc..... (same way people use Cheese, pepper; much healthier though)if you are naughty enough, you can try it on your partner's body and have some fun :-)

NOT! No wonder the hefty price! This grinder is worth every penny. Performs and delivers to perfection. The exact texture with each setting is on point. I use a mix of black gourmet and toasted and home roasted seeds. I did not believe that the results would surpass the results of mortar and pestle method but they did.

Despite the several negative reviews, I trusted the Zojirushi Brand and bought one of these in January. I have used Zojirushi hot pots and rice cookers for decades.I like to add a bit of sesame seed to my morning oatmeal. I used the grinder for less than 30 seconds, 4 or 5 days a week. In about 3 weeks' time, the grinder stopped working. I cleaned it thoroughly and with water, then waited for it to dry. But it no longer grinds :-(.I am about to see how Amazon handles this situation.

We always try to add healthy seeds to our diet. This handy gadget allow us to add sesame to many different foods. You can feel better about using mayo when you mix seeds with it. At first I was put off by no english language instructions and emailed the manufacturer for them. A very polite answer said they did not have english instructions but to follow the picture instructions. I did - it works. And, the kids love to operate the grinder.

I have to admit I didn't even try using it. Once I opened the package, I saw the plastic grinding blade and decided it wasn't for me. I wanted something that had a more durable, metal blade. I know the outside is plastic, but I didn't expect plastic throughout. Wish that was described in the listing, so I wouldn't have to pay return postage. It looks like it has all of the settings I wanted. I read good comments about it, but I'm a stickler for quality, durable items that I won't have to replace every few years. Not sure there is anything better in a battery-powered grinder. Guess I'll look at hand-grinders. I'm sure this will be a great grinder for some, who don't mind having to replace it before long. It's just not for me.
