Lonely Planet Dubai & Abu Dhabi (Travel Guide)

I had already been to Dubai and Abu Dhabi and wish I had had this book to begin with. When we return some day I will look forward to seeing more of the sights in that remarkable city, based on this book!

Will know in 55 days if this is a good guide. It has helped me understand Dubai better prior to my trip.

This book does a good job of segmenting Dubai into easily approachable districts, and providing suggestions of places and sites to see in each district. Most of the information about historical sites and landmarks was valuable. But other information about restaurants, bars and nightlife was just mediocre. I found much better info online. This book also doesn't provide any good tips or strategies for transportation. There are a variety of transportation options in Dubai, ranging from "yellow cab" taxis, higher end "black cars", Uber, and light rail, and I would have liked to see those discussed in detail in this book. Other information about the accessibility of wireless hotspots and availability of cell service would have been helpful as well. Overall this book was helpful for my trip to Dubai, but the areas where it was lacking information forced me to do a lot of my own research.

The guide to the United Arab Emirates had all of the necessary information needed for the trip I was undertaking. No complaints ! Easy to read, easy to use as usual with most Lonely Planet guide books.

Provides a great overview of key attractions and activities in both cities.

Great information for my recent visit.

Exceptional book

It is a good guide although some information would need to be updated. But in general is reliable and provides good suggestions that sometimes not even the locals know.

Valuable travel companion. Just the right amount of info from a book, considering we all now have access to Internet. Used on 2 trips to Dubai and helped me discover some areas, exhibitions I may not otherwise have found.

Sono abituato a viaggire con le guide Lonely Planet e mi sono sempre trovato molto bene. Anche questa mi ha permesso di trovare alcuni locali difficilmente conoscibili e non sempre inseriti in altre guide. Apprezzo sempre il fatto di consigliare locali adatti a varie tipologie di 'portafoglio'. Amazon impeccabile.
