Perfect bags
I bought and returned several bags before I found these. The bags are perfect for my 07 Yamaha VStar 650. First, they were installed in about 5-10 minutes. So easy. There are holes that let you make adjustments so each side doesn’t hang down too low. The bags fit so they are not resting on the mufflers and fit in nicely without getting in way of turn lights. The straps are easy to open and close and there is plenty of room to hold anything you would need to take on a ride. You can either I’m buckle them to open or leave buckled and use the clips. Very cool little touch. The smaller pouches are convenient for easy access. Finally, the bags have an awesome look. Absolutely love them. Added a few pics to see.New Info 7/31/20: I was recently caught in a massive downpour and I was soaked. Had wallet, phone, and other items tucked away in side pockets and they all stayed dry. I was fine being wet but was very happy phone and wallet were dry. These bags are the best.

Excellent product for the money
The fact that these bags have a large flap to seal out the elements is fantastic. The first time I used these I was caught in torrential downpours - so much so that I had to cut the trip short. I had placed the contents of the saddlebags in plastic trash bags to keep the stuff dry but I really did not need to - the inside of the bags stayed dry.I am very satisfied with these bags. I am not terribly picky about looks although these look great - I am more into function and these bags function well. The front pouches are great for cell phone, wallet and keys in one side and a drink bottle in the other. These pouches are not sealed as well as the main part of the bag, so make sure you ZipLock your phone and wallet.Someone had asked if they are real leather - no they are not. They look like real leather to me but then again I am not that picky about that kind of thing - they look and work great even after being saoking wet for just about 7 days straight. Unlike leather, these things don't need to be treated to keep them from getting stiff or shrinking. Love the bags. Best bags I have seen. If I find better bags, I will buy them but for now, these are it.

The best saddlebags in its price range
I bought 2 of these because I burned a hole in my first pair with my muffler. Which is suprising because It withstood a 4 hour drive ON TOP of the muffler and only had a tiny hole in its bottom. It looks like leather, I think its not, but nevertheless, looks great. They're spacious, are absolutely water resistant and easy to clean. They're sturdy too.

fits 2009 V STAR 250...
... but not without some tweeking. I had to move the rear turn signals further back on the fender (drill holes, extend wiring) which will probably have to be done for any saddlebag purchased for the vstar 250. Used as a through-over, my passenger didn't want to sit on the web going over the seat, nor would I (without a passenger the through-over method will work). I decided to try and get it under the seat. The web is too thick and held the seat above the rear hold down bolt, so I raised the front seat bracket off the fender with some washers to gain some clearance for the web. I also had to bend the bolt down bracket on the back of the seat downward so it would slip over the hold down bolt. Once the nut was tightened down the web was clamped securely in place. None of this was too difficult if you have a vice, hammer and drill (and some time).THE BAG ITSELF I'm pretty sure it's pleather. I burned a small piece and it smelled like burning plastic. Pretty hard to tell otherwise. I was told that pleather is easier to care for than leather, but you should research that yourself. I'll need to add a bracket to keep it away from the wheel. Hardware on the bag is well chosen.•Large, plastic zippers run smoothly and snap down when closed so they can't inadvertently unzip. The zipper is protected from "the elements" under a flap of pleather. The flap wraps under both ends of the zipper and is held shut with velcro closures. Difficult to explain, but it's a nice extra that I didn't expect.•The lids come over the edge of the bag like flashing to keep the rain out. The inside of the bag has a flap at the front and back which lays above the contents adding a second line of defence. I can't speak to its being waterproof, but in theory it looks well thought out. There's also a snap at the ends of the bags which holds the lids ends tight against the bag. •Two straps with buckles hold the lid down. I deducted a star because they're actually functioning buckles and not just decorative hardware with a simpler closure system. I don't know what that would be and it's a very small negative.•The bag's interior has a couple elastic pockets suitable for a phone or wallet and has a cloth-like coating. Otherwise is just a place to put stuff. Inside is 12" end to end x 11 1/2 tall x 6" wide. Pretty much what's stated in the product literature.•There's a D-ring at the lower front and rear for tying them to the bike with a cord. Even mounted beneath the seat like I did there's plenty of space away from the mufflers. All things considered (price, construction, size) I'd say they're a good purchase. I spent days on line and at bike shops looking for bags that would hopefully be small enough for the vstar 250, be "waterproof" and not break the bank. Thanks for reading all this. I hope it helps you make a decision!

An absolute steal for the price!
Inexpensive, and easy to install. I recommend cutting a hard bottom from some durable plastic to fit and prevent sagging. This was not a dealbreaker for me, but I prefer hard bottom bags. They are nice to look at and are pretty durable.

Not likely to fall of your bike
There is a previous review that states it fell off the reviewers bike. These have a snap on the zipper that prevents the zipper from unzipping (along with a cover flap that has velcro on both ends, so I find that problem HIGHLY unlikely). If you lace it improperly under the seat, falling off is possible, I suppose. It is all up to you to prevent these issues. This set/size of bags may be a bit large for the under 650cc bikes. Contact with a dual pipe right side exhaust is possible, as I have on my bike. You will likely have to relocate your turn signals. I will. Due to the layers under the seat you may have to get creative to make them fit well. All in all the bags look like they will do a fair to good job of keeping out moisture & road spray under wet conditions. They have internal flaps and top covers that have good overlap on the bag body. The outside wall could use a stiffener at the top outboard edge, they bow in a bit at the top (once again a little creativity will solve this). These are going on my 1995 Yamaha XV535. After a few aforementioned mods and careful placement they will work & fit well. They look great on this bike.

very nice bags
I mounted these on my 2004 Honda Shadow aero. They are very large and just fit, no room to spare.Although they are large, a passenger can still ride and clear the bags on this bike. For installation I had to remove two rubber pads from the bottom of the passenger seat. I already had bag brackets. The material on the bag is surprisingly nice. There is a safety snap to keep the zippers from walking loose. The overall quality is impressive for the price. The long length of the bag allows it to buckle inward around the center when not loaded. I added a support along the edge that fixed that.Very pleased with this purchase.

Awesome bags!
So the ad was misleading, It says 20 inches long but that's actually the length of the bag from the front to the back of the rear pocket, the actual bag width is more like 17" inches, but the depth is 12" inches and the width is 7" and they are still a fantastic size and bigger than my other saddle bags. Quality is good, would be nice if the interior was lined but for $100 bucks the general make of them is excellent and they seem they'll last for awhile. Happy with my purchase, just wish the ad measurements were accurate.

Excellent quality saddle bags
I was amazed by the quality of these bags. I got them for my Virago 250 which is a relatively small bike but these big bags fit great after I moved the turn signals. These bags can hold A LOT of groceries, gear or whatever you need them too. I can't say enough good things about them!
