Does it pinch the skin?

I too was scared of it but it never happened

Suitable for which age group?? I have 1.5 year old daughter

No i would not suggest this for a 1.5 year kid coz she should be atleast minimum age of 3+

Can this be appropriate for 6-7 year old as wel

Yes for me, as I use for my 7 year old daughter during travel, depends on the weight of the child as well, mine is lean. Its a good product though, very useful !
