I've tried all of them. I've tried component to HDMI adaptors, only to have them either not work or break after a week, and I've tried the PS2 to HDMI dongles, which ALWAYS have vertical lines. When seeing this product originally, I was very skeptical. The device had no reviews to go off of and also looks like it is newly listed (Because, I believe it is) However, I tried every other adaptor. Might as well give this one a go. I plugged it in, and was both thrown off and interested at the same time. I was getting teeny tiny vertical lines and a bit of signal distortion, which I hated, however, I looked closer. The more I looked, the more the problem disappeared! I believe this product has to warm up a bit before the signal becomes crystal clear. Within just a few minutes, the picture was perfect! I tried a GT4, which gave me 1080i with no issues, and I also tried Underworld: The Eternal War (A pal game). I expected the pal game to have issues, however, it worked with no issues at all! Absolutely perfect! All in all, I am superbly happy I purchased this product. This is the only solution that worked for me. As a final note, I wrote the company on their Facebook page asking for a bit of information on another product, and they responded within just a couple hours! Even on the weekend, when it says they are closed! The customer service is amazing for this company! Don't be scared off by the price or by the lack of reviews. This product is fantastic and well worth the money. I especially love the company and can not wait to see what other products they have in store. Hopefully a version of the Wii2HDMI that works? :D

I wanted this because some PS2 games don’t scale well on newer televisions. This was easy to install, less than 5 minutes. I’ll be using Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as my example. On the title screen before all the loading images is a bunch of fine print that is nearly illegible due to the scaling of the tv. It’s fuzzy and has blurred edges rendering it impossible to read. I plugged in this bad boy and I was able to read every word crystal clear! The only complaint I have is that whole the graphics are clearer and the edges are crisper, far away objects in games have a slightly over-crisped texture model to them now. I don’t know if they were always there and you couldn’t tell because the quality looked like crap, but other than this it looks really good! I can finally read the in game map icons now as well! It’s a cheap fix and works great. 9/10!

Setup was easy and having the RGB/Component switch makes it easy to get a signal even if your video settings are not initially correct. PS2 video and HDMI connectors were very firm but felt good quality. After setup was complete, the picture quality was equal to component quality and sound was fine and passed through ARC for me just fine. Previously, I used a component to HDMI convert box but it was a pain to connect all those cables and my new TV does not have component cables. So, this cable is much easier to deal with and works well. I really do not have any complaints and hope it continues to work as it does now. If it does, I feel it deserves a very high recommendation. Some reviews complain about PS1 use but the device only advertised PS2 so I don't see how that is fair. Also, some review seem to think the picture should look better but I am familiar with PS2 component output and this appears to be the same quality which is all you can expect from a cable. This will not make the PS2 look hi-res and it will depend on the quality or your TVs scaler. But if you have a TV with a good scaler, your results should be good.

Right out of the box this thing worked surprisingly well. Both PS2 and PS1 games looked very sharp, almost identical to what you'd see on emulation and how the games were meant to look. However, the second day hit and this thing showed its true cheapness. It's total junk. Picture quality looks worse than when I just connected straight from my PS2 to the TV and it was very noticeable. Not the same picture quality from day 1. Also, this device gets really hot after just 10 mins of gameplay, which was noticeable on day 1. Not worth it. Maybe Kaicos other products fair better but this was a major flop.

Ok so I have bought at least....at least 6 HDMI converters for my ps2 over the past 8 years, and this one is by far the best one that I have bought. First of all the price is right and the way its built is not cheap material. I have used this in both modes and they both look great compared to others that I have bought! Dont get me wrong you arent going to get 1080p quality but the picture is pretty close being played on a HDTV, just excellent. HINT: I found that adjusting the color, the sharpness, and the brightness on your TV helps alot! My ps2 games look great, been playing all of my sports games the last 3 weeks. This is by far the best HDMI converter on the market... spend up for this, dont buy cheap cheap plastic versions... this is it. Hope they keep on perfecting these converters... Ive found no flaws with mine at all yet. Selling all my olders ones on ebay thants to this one. A+++++ product! Game shown in my pics is NBA Live 2003 one of my favs!

While ordering it, I unfortunetly did not read the rest of the description as I was buying the item as all I ever saw was that it made my PS2 of either model work on HD tvs. This gave me the assumption that straight out of the box, my PS1 and PS2 games would start playing on a wide screen, plasma screen TV no problem. It came in, I plugged it in and black screen. Something the manual does not tell you however is that it will come with an extra cabe you must connect to the back and into a PS2 usb slot for it to work. I did this, and the screen became clear now. I can play my PS2 games in HD! So then I put in Silent Bomber as my game of choice turning it on, PS1 logo flashing and then black screen. So I thought of trying out another one, this time Street Fighter Alpha 3. Start up, logo, black screen. I thought something was wrong, so I decided to get the obvious choice of Final Fantasy VII and put it inside. Start up, logo, and then blakc screen. Everyhting was working, but why wasn't the picture coming up? So I decided to go online, and notice there was a banner that said it will not work with PS1 games. WHY!? This is a cable, not an entire console! I never got how the cable could help play my old school PS2 games, but once I try to play my PS1 games in said conosle, nothing comes up!! Maybe there's gonna be a revision, but I get the feeling it's not gonna be as good or gonna take longer to make. I don't understand how a CABLE is prevetning me from playing my PS1 games inside of my PS2 whren I can do it with the basic cable it came with in the box! So yeah, only buy this if you only plan on playing PS2 games on your console. EDIT: So further into testing out games, it seems like it might not work with many compilation games. I say many and not all because while Metal Slug Anthology, it will not run Fatal Fury Battle Archive: Volume 1. So a warning to those who are current or future PS2 fans and collectors, not only will PS1 games not work but also most old school compilation games won't work either.

I already own the Kaico PS2 HDMI adapter, but wanted to play my PS1 games also. The image quality between the two looks the same to me, and is fine if you just want to plug and play. As others have mentioned, the output defaults to 16:9 widescreen, stretching the image of (almost all) games that only support 4:3 format. Depending on your TV you can fix this by forcing your TV to display a 4:3 ratio in your TV settings. This PS1/PS2 adapter also plugs in easier into the PS2 compared to the Kaico PS2 HDMI adapter, because of the adapter having a cable.

Avevo già preso aggeggi del genere di altre Marche ma questo è decisamente migliore. Testato su un oled lg g4 la schermata della ps2 ha una buona nitidezza, colori e stabilità d immagine. Converte perfettamente pure i segnali dei giochi ps1 ( cosa non scontata ) . Come convertitore plug and play è il migliore che ho provato, non è un ossc ( che sono dispositivi decisamente diversi) ma quello che fa lo fa bene

Wir haben den HDMI-Adapter gekauft, weil wir unsere alte PlayStation 1 endlich wieder benutzen wollten. Mit einem aktuellen Fernseher (Baujahr 2025) war das bisher einfach nicht möglich, da nur noch HDMI-Anschlüsse vorhanden sind. Der Adapter war also unsere letzte Hoffnung – und zum Glück funktioniert er wirklich sehr gut. Der Anschluss ist absolut unkompliziert. Einfach an die PlayStation stecken, HDMI-Kabel in den Fernseher und schon wird das Bild erkannt. Es musste nichts eingestellt oder herumprobiert werden, alles lief direkt beim ersten Versuch. Auch der Ton wird sauber übertragen, ohne Rauschen oder Verzögerung. Die Bildqualität ist natürlich nicht mit moderner Grafik zu vergleichen, aber das liegt ja an der Konsole selbst. Für eine PS1 ist das Bild überraschend klar und absolut ausreichend, um wieder alte Klassiker zu spielen. Wir konnten sofort wieder Tomb Raider, GTA 2 und Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater starten – genau dafür wollten wir den Adapter und genau das macht er zuverlässig. Die Verarbeitung wirkt ordentlich, das Kabel sitzt fest und nichts wackelt. Auch nach mehreren Einsätzen gab es keine Aussetzer oder Verbindungsprobleme. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist der Preis. Für einen Adapter ist er nicht ganz günstig. Da er aber wirklich funktioniert und ältere Konsolen damit wieder nutzbar werden, lohnt es sich am Ende trotzdem. Fazit: Wenn man eine alte PlayStation 1 oder 2 an einem modernen Fernseher nutzen möchte, ist dieser Adapter eine wirklich gute Lösung. Wir sind sehr zufrieden und würden ihn wieder kaufen.
