Snazzy diapers for newborns
OBSESSED with these diapers. If I could afford it, I would buy like 20 of these and use them exclusively during the newborn phase!!! However, it's pretty cost prohibitive to do so, so instead I bought 4 of them and use them every day. They are very high quality, very trim for a cloth diaper, and SUPER cute. The snaps hold up well. They absorb liquid quickly so don't really feel wet against baby's skin even though they are saturated. Washing is simple since there is no assembly required. Only downside to these diapers is that once your baby starts to get a bit bigger, you'll have to stop using them for night time as they don't hold a ton. We had a (pee) leak the other day after she had been in these for about 4 hours. Still a great daytime option though and haven't had any poo blowout. Another downside is if you have big babies. These really are best for smaller babies. I think around 10lbs baby will start to outgrow these. Definitely no more than 11/12lbs. But we started off at 6lbs so it's totally worth it. I anticipate these will hold up for subsequent babies. So if you're planning to have a lot of kids it may be worth the investment to get a lot of these!

Excellent Diaper - Soft and Well Made
These are so soft and the inside looks really comfortable. They only require one wash prior to wearing so the prep is easy. We prepped ours right away and she wore both diapers the same day they were delivered. Our baby is a heavy wetter and these did not leak or have blowouts - and she did poop in both of them. The fit was excellent at both the leg and the waist - snug but not too tight, and she seemed comfortable. I do wish they came in singles or at least a two-pack of different patterns since this is the only duplicate we have. For comparison, our baby weighs about 8 1/2 pounds and is approximately 22 inches long. She still fits the smallest setting but doesn't need the umbilical cord snap down. The GroVia newborn AIO has leaked for us on multiple occasions and so has the Fuzzibunz extra small pocket diaper - both of those are loose at the waist on her. The only other diapers that have worked for us are the Blueberries/Swaddlebees Newborn Simplex AIO and prefolds with a thirsties cover.

Best Newborn Diapers
Little Joeys are some of the best constructed reusable diapers. We prefer these to reusables becuase: - they do not leak because of the vinyl(?) shell - they smell far, far less - they come in so many cute patterns. Far cuter than any disposables! I dunno about you, but I'll take what cuteness I can get at those 2am diaper changes! - they wash and dry really, really easily. Just throw em in the washer/dryer. - saves min $250/month net the cost of the diapers - disposable diapers are among the top components of plastic waste polluting our oceans and marine life Our kid while 5lb 12oz - 6 lb 6oz fit the smallest snap options. Prefer these slightly to Thirsties (because everything on the inside is sewn in) and deeefinitely to the GroVia Newborn (bc the GV, like the Thirsties, has a tongue, but it's semingly backward, getting in the way of the umbilcal coord snapdown feature)

Cute diapers but not my favorites.
I relied a lot on reviews to help me choose newborn cloth diapers so I'm going to try to write a helpful review. I like these diapers for my small (under 7 lb) newborn. These are really cute and small. They are also high-quality, and I love how soft they are. They also have an umbilical snap-down, which I love. What I don't love about them is how long they take to dry and that even though they're so small, they actually aren't as trim on my baby as I expected. I've been impressed with the inner gussets' ability to hold in exclusively breastfed newborn stools. We'll see how long the absorbency lasts us. My baby is currently 3 weeks old and we've been using these since we started cloth diapering her at 3 days old. They still work and are a solid choice. I don't think I've had a leak yet. But they are not my favorite newborn diaper (that would go to Blueberry simplex.)

Adorable!! Just wish the tag was fabric
These little diapers are so adorable!! We were only able to use them a short time before our child outgrew them, but it was worth it for the snap down umbilical cord. They're also super easy to use and clean. If exclusively breastfed, you can just throw them in the wash and everything comes right out! If there is a stain it's slight, and easy to remove by simply laying the diaper in the sun for an hour or so. We never had any issues with stains or smells. Just be sure to use proper detergent and a good wash routine. The fluff love university website is a great resource. They have a detergent index which I found extremely helpful in selecting unscented, plant based, and cruelty free detergents. They also have a washing machine index.. you just find your make and model and it will tell you which settings to use for your particular machine. Since these are all in one diapers they do take longer to dry, but that is to be expected. I didn't mind.. it was worth the convenience. I can't imagine hanging multiple inserts and stuffing diapers during the newborn phase! The orange diaper came with a tag that said "wash separately," so I called Kanga Care for more information. They woman I talked to was so friendly and helpful! Excellent customer service. She explained that some colors like reds and oranges may bleed the first time you wash them. It's usually not an issue but they put that label on just in case, since the color may transfer to other inserts. I only had 2 orange diapers so I just washed them with everything else and didn't have any problems. Another thing that's great about these diapers is that since they're only used a short time (and are adorable) they have a high resale value. Just saying. The only thing I do not like about these diapers is the tag. It's a thick, flexible plastic or something. It's awkward and can catch on things sometimes. I never had a problem with the lil joeys leaking around the tag, but one of my newborn covers did (see last picture). I wish they would replace it with a fabric tag.

Great fit for our expanding family!
I have been cloth diapering for 3 years now and have never bought newborn cloth because I always buy one size diapers. The problem with my one size diapers is that they seem a little bulky to me on little babies so I decided to give these a shot. I love how slim they are and how soft they are on baby skin. They are perfect for transitioning from disposables since all you do is put them on and take them off once dirty and throw in the wash. A lot of other diapers come with too many pieces and intimidate beginners like my husband so I love that these are easy for him. If you have a heavier baby these still work but I think a lot of people forget or haven't done research on how to properly fit diapers onto baby. I've never had issues on my chunky legged or skinny legged babies both fit into these diapers perfectly up to the recommended 12lbs. I have 12 in total and I wash every two days and haven't had any issues at all... Definitely my favorite newborn diaper!

Questionable Weight Range
These were okay for the 1-2 weeks that they fit. We were able to avoid some of the leaking issues mentioned by other reviewers by snapping the waist snaps onto the lower row; however, while they did great at holding in poop after this, they remained pretty lackluster at containing urine. Obviously, these aren't disposables; they need to be changed after each time baby goes, but these were struggling with that. By the time she regained her birth weight (8 lbs 5 oz), they were so tight on the loosest setting that they were leaving pretty bad indents on her skin. She has a pretty big tummy, but her waist/hips are incredibly tiny (hilariously so if I'm being honest). These fit where she's tiny, but were still leaving marks all over. Not sure if this was because she was crazy active and constantly rolling onto her side, maybe? Anyway, I found a post explaining how to "hack" AlvaBaby diapers for newborns. We'd gotten a few AlvaBaby and Simple Being, so I did that with both of them. It looks goofy compared to the normal snapping of the Lil Joey's, but it works so much better for us. I saw some people complaining about stains. Honestly, I'm not bothered by the stains. I figure that's just something that comes with the territory. But for those curious, this is how ours looked after the 1-2 weeks of use with only breastfeeding. We washed them inside out, using the "soak" and "heavy soil" settings on the washing machine with Dreft detergent and no bleach or Shout or anything. I did notice that the pocket diapers have stained much less after nearly 9 weeks of use in comparison without doing anything different, but that probably has something to do with how the absorbency works, I'm guessing? I wouldn't know.

LOVE these diapers!
This is my first venture into cloth diapering, and after researching many different brands I decided on these. I am really happy I did! They are the perfect size for my little man, are absorbent, and easy to care for- just throw them in the wash! Stains come out easily with either a re-wash or laying them in the sun to dry, and they are really no less convenient than disposeables. No more running out to the store for diapers- I do one load a day when I am down to 2 or 3, and they are ready to go again. No rashes either! They contain leaks well, but keep in mind they should be changed every 2 hours or so, just as often as a disposeable, or they will leak, too. they are super soft, and are perfect for a newborn. Try them, you will not be disappointed!
