This starting watch is great.
This is the third Optimum Time I buy (two for me over the years, one as a gift to my brother) and I love them. Huge numbers, very simple to operate.

Great Start Watch
I use the watch for kite foil racing. I love how big the numbers are so easy to read with sunglasses on while being sprayed with water, also I use reading glasses normally so the big display really helps. The buttons are big and easy to operate despite all the chaos going around me at the start. Plus the audible beeps in the final minute tell me when the start is without looking. This watch nails it. Pricey though.

Great Sailing Watch!
I ordered this watch in yellow and ordered another in blue. The yellow is for me — the blue for my husband. There was a short learning curve but once we mastered the buttons, the watch is perfect. We love the programmed countdown and cross the start line on the exact second. Love the colors! Love the large face! No malfunctions! Great watch!

Not water-proof - DO NOT BUY for Sailing Lasers
i bought this in early November, 2023 and was exicted by the design and the simplicity of the functions. It is after all marketed as a stop watch for sailing racing. I was using this for racing Lasers.I am incredibly dissappointed with the quality and the lack of even basic water resistance. I have used this for 3 races and after getting a bit splashed - not even completely submerged - this stop watch is now ruined. It got water in the insides and in the face. Wow - for $90, I expected much better quality. The watch is completel destroyed.Since I am now outside of the 30 day return window, I sent a note to the customer service dept at Optim, hoping they would stand behind the quality of their product. I have never even received a response from them. So - in addition to my disappointment for the quality of the product, their lack of customer service makes the situatoin even worse. Very unfortunate.Instead of this stopwatch, I am now switching over to a Ronstand Clearwater. It costs less and is guranteed to be waterproof.

One Big, Useful Watch!
This watch is an oldie but a goodie, love the size and easy to read face. The Sync button is a lifesaver and easy and intuitive to use. It’s great for race officers like myself for running races and estimating the length of a race, or running a starting sequence, and I plan to also use it as a racer this summer. I like that I can customize the starting sequence because the races I participate in have different sequences, sometimes not one of the standard ones. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the Mode and Clear buttons are so small relative to the other function buttons and I can’t read their labels without glasses because the print on the buttons is so tiny, so I might mix up which one is which. Other than that, terrific watch, worth the money, and can’t wait to use it for racing!

Battery dead, but great customer service. Made it right.
I have ordered this watch in white in the past and it is perfect. Have used it for years for dinghy racing with zero issues. I ordered this one (same watch in blue) for my son and the battery died on the second time worn, with very bad timing of this (out of town regatta). However, I followed up with the company and they made it all ok quickly. These things happen. Because my first watch (same exact watch, different color, same company) is so good, and because the company had great customer service, I am still giving 5 stars and will order again for sure. This watch must be the gold standard for dinghy racing. It is super easy to switch from 3 min starts to 5 min starts, do rolling starts, and toggle to time. I also love the sync function. It is interesting that the sailing watch (with sync function) is so much more expensive than the other equestrian version (with sec function). It seems it would be easy to order the wrong version accidentally.

Good, could be great
I aggressively race yachts in New England waters as a Bowman. Watch itself popped off its cup mount & went over the side during sail changes. Should be more secure for crew who work on bow & cannot hear countdown in cockpit, or see mast clock.
