Soooo Beautiful! The colors are even prettier in person. It was a pleasure to knit a very soft, oversized throw for my granddaughter to take to college in September. I told her that now she can be wrapped in grandma’s love!! The yarn is very soft, silky, not scratchy. I loved knitting with it. Even though it is size 4 medium worsted, it’s thinner than other size 4 worsted yarns I've used. I find that all size 4 worsteds are not the same thickness. I used a pattern that was written for this Lion Brand Mandala, and the guage was perfect. Mandala is gorgeous. It’s amazing how it self stripes. There are sometimes a few tiny knots in the skeins, where the yarn was joined during precessing. I just cut the yarn and joined the yarn as you would join any yarn. This hardly occurred and was not a problem. I have not washed and dried it, but the instructions say that you can machine wash and dry, which is great!!

If you aren’t familiar with Lion Brand’s Mandala: Ombré yarn, let me introduce you real quick 😉. This is a 4 weight, or worsted weight yarn that is squishy as all get out! You get 344 yards, 5.3 ozs (for my overseas peeps that’s: 315 meters and 150 grams) of luxury! There isn’t a color way of Ombré that I don’t like. But I fell in love with a few. Balance is one of the ones that pulled me in. As far as coloring goes this is a self striping yarn that doesn’t jump colors but transitions with white to the next color. This particular color way is heavy in green and normally I wouldn’t look at a green yarn twice (unless it’s a sage or a chartreuse) but these greens were calling me. The pink, purple and blues were just tasty incentives for me to get this yarn. Full disclosure, I have used this yarn in different colors before and I know what to expect from it: you are getting yarn that is so soft and squishy, but durable when washing and drying. It is great to make baby items, toys, clothing and SHOULD NEVER be used for kitchen items. It wasn’t made for that. This was made to create wearables, pocket books, blankets, book bags, the list is endless. But kitchen items, no. I really love this yarn 🧶. I was making a poncho *see picture*, but I ordered more to make a cardigan. It will be so lovely to wear. You need to try this yarn if you are a fiber artist ( knitter, crocheter, weaver). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<10 stars because it is that beautiful 🤩🥰🧶🧶🧶

This is the first yarn “cake” I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The cake of yarn is smaller than I thought it would be, but I started a blanket with this yarn, not sure what to expect. I’m very pleased with the softness of the yarn and ease of working with. I wish each yarn cake had more yards in it, but I love working with this yarn. I started out with 2 and then bought 4 more of the same color. This yarn is a little lighter than I expected, but is working up great. It’s beautiful, the way the color seems hand dyed. I couldn’t find the end strand in the center, so I’m having to work from the outside, but not a big deal. Will probably be buying again. It’s definitely worth the price and will make a good warm blanket.

Rec'd this yarn today. I have not started crocheting yet so how it "functions" I don't know yet--it's my first time using this brand. First, there is a pull string from the middle ready to go--so no searching for it! yay. Second, the color is gorgeous and just what I hoped for! Third, I am surprised at how soft this yarn feels! ADDENDUM: I have used 2 skeins of this yarn so far and I LOVE IT! The best I've ever used! I had to come back to add: not a single knot in two skeins so far! No tangles. This yarn is gorgeous and perfect end-to-end. And it doesn't have that sticky sizing (or whatever it is) that some yarns have either, so I am not constantly having to wash my hand and hook. LOVE THIS YARN. NOTE: when you click on each of the color choices, you get 4-5 photos to the left for each one and the color varies between the photos. The little square that you actually click on is the most accurate color. This is a gorgeous blue. Vivid without being "in your face bright". Leans toward denim shades of blue. What I'm saying is, it's definitely shades of BLUE with no tints of green or purple--just pure blue shades. Just look at the little square that you click on to order this color, and ignore the other photos. And this is definitely soft! I have not started to crochet yet, so I'll add an addendum if my opinion changes.

The strands realllllllly like catching on the hook, but once you figure out how to adjust your tension/hook angle to account for that, it works great! I recommend using a 4.5-5mm hook. Beautiful coloring, too. Surprisingly soft.

I bought this Lion Brand yarn to knit a scarf, and I couldn’t be happier with it!
