It seems expensive but itโs totally worth it
I bought this based on all of the reviews I work with a general contractor and do quite a bit of laminate and vinyl flooring. I came across this tool when looking for a larger tapping block because it seemed like a good idea to have more surface area to avoid cracking the edge of a panel. This tool is in a league of its own it has plenty of service area and doesnโt even utilize a lip on the edge you actually strike the tongue but since youโre striking so much area at once no damage is caused and It allows you to completely set and lock into place each piece one at a time Rather than trying to lift a row to get them to seat and lock into place properly. Iโve only used it on laminate Pergo which can be a nightmare to lock into place and I am able to strike the edge as hard as I want and I mean really hard for stubborn pieces in stubborn spots and it works great with no damage. I installed for rooms so far with this tool and have not damaged one piece and I havenโt even had to use my mallet for anything but the last row. This thing is great I recommend this for professional installers I also recommend this for anybody whoโs planning on doing their own installation this thing will save you time itโll save you money it really is awesome. The only downside that I have so far is that Iโve smacked my finger twice and it freaking hurt a lot and I mean a lot a lot. Iโve never smacked myself with a hammer or pinched my finger with a normal block so it just takes a little getting used to but because itโs so big youโve got to be careful where your fingers are. No fault to the tool and Iโve had no other issues. Even if you only have a Gap of four or 5 inches for your last piece this thing is heavy enough to tap your piece into place With ease which is awesome because sometimes you canโt even get a hammer between a wall and your floor and this thing can sneak in there. Also if you have to tap down on a plank testing does it even better than a rubber mallet or a plastic hammer ever could. So pick this tool up and go get yourself some of the big stand up spacers and get to work.

Much more efficient than a mallet and block.
Only ties up one hand, making it much faster to set planks than using a mallet and block. Definitely worth the increased cost when you consider the time and effort saved. It has plenty of mass to do the job, and the impact area is greater than a block that you hit with a mallet. Check out YouTube videos, you will see why the pros use this type of tool. I am 800 square feet into a 2000 square foot job, and I am very glad I went this route. Watch your fingers! It will hurt just like a hammer if one gets between the block and the plank. Quality is excellent.

This Tapping Block is High Quality and Will Speed Up Your Install.
This Tapping Block is a must. It really makes installing floors super easy and fast. It is high quality and the price is hard to beat for a tool this nice. It can be used for any type of flooring that requires a tight snug fit. It packs a good hard hit and wont damage the flooring material. I have used mine on many jobs and it has held up against some pretty nasty banging and it feels as good as when it arrived, it is very durable.

Pro installer review; BUY THIS!
I am a professional flooring installer. Iโve used every type of tapping system there is. Including making my own at times out of wood blocks and carpet scraps. Most do their job well enough. But there are caveats to that statement. Some put your hands in the โstrike zoneโ and for anyone whoโs smashed a finger or hand...it hurts. Others fall apart or damage the flooring. Thatโs never good. Itโs rare to find a tool that not only does its job, does it well AND eliminates a whole step. Plus speeds up install time and is overall a joy to use. This is one of those tools. Vs a block and a mallet you now only need this one tool. No more mallet and a block. This means less wear and tear on your body. Means faster install times. Means less damaged flooring. ....Well built. Works great. Perfect weight and it keeps my hands away from getting smashed. I canโt say anything else really except, buy it. Itโs a value and will pay for itself over and over. Itโs so great I want another already! Professional recommended!

Did okay job
Did not like the rounded corners , tended to bust up the grooves of the 1/2 inch thick laminate I was installing for a customer. Plan on removing handle and putting through a tablesaw to square it up. Have a old block that's square and has never failed me. A little pricey but over all okay.

Great Product!
I donโt normally write reviews but I was skeptical of purchasing this product because of the price and wanted to help anyone else that may feel the same way. I had laid some flooring before and just used a standard tapping block or a scrap piece of flooring and a rubber mallet. Iโm in the middle of a full house remodel right now and decided I was going to lay the LVP flooring myself. If you were only doing a small room or closet then I would say save your money and use the above mentioned method. (unless you just gotta have it because all men (and some women) like new toolsโฆif youโre not one of those men they also sell purses on Amazon.) I had about 1000 sq. Ft. Though so I figured anything to make it faster would be worth a try. It takes a little practice to learn how to use it and not damage your flooring but itโs not that complicated. More of a muscle memory sort of thing. Once you got it you got it. (I realize some people are not as inclined as others so if you have trouble figuring it out itโs probably you)โฆ(sorry not sorry)โฆback to the point. If you have a lot of flooring and only a little bit of patience I recommend buying one. It makes the job go faster and you donโt have to juggle a hammer, tapping block/scrap floor piece and a floor panel. Youโre welcome :)

Best block ! Buy sooner to enjoy it !
Best block. The weight just perfectly right. Not too harsh to damage the tongue and groove , strong enough to tap the joint in place . No longer need hammer and block . This thing will last a. Long, long time Best tool !

A must-have block for quicker installation
Purchased this tapping block to install vinyl floor tiles. Installation is much easier and quicker if used properly. That is, place the tile in the proper position against the other installed floor tile, slightly tilt the tile upward, position one end of the tapping block on one end of the vinyl tile (use as a pivot) and rotate the other end (with some force) of the tapping block to "tap" the tile in place. Very quick installation. On 48-inch vinyl tiles, I sometimes need only 2 taps and the tile goes into place.

Pro must have
You place on the flooring hit with hammers or mallets, it will distribute the force even as wide as the tool, perfect for the subborn fitting ones. Or you can just speed run it and tap while holding handle. Perfect for all the types of flooring material from laminates to hardwoods No complaints
