Gum Crinkle Rubber Soling Sheet - 7 Irons, Black

I'm using this to add to dressy, but slippery and noisy, women's shoes, affixing to ball of foot area and heels. Some may consider this, at 5/32", a bit too thick for this application, but I wanted the extra cushion and noise-squelching. I have not found it to appear too bulky nor to detract from the prettiness of the sandals to which I've applied it thus far. Frankly, I think any shoe looks nicer if the wearer is walking in quiet confidence. Having a product like this now easily available for DIYers has opened up a whole new world of footwear possibilities for me. I don't have to pass up those pretty, but slippery, little beauties any more! Ladies, once you get the gluing/clamping sorted out, the possibilities are endless! If you use a Barge cement type product, you don't need as much clamp pressure as you do with Gorilla Glue, which expands while curing. I found the cement works better if I first sand the heel and sole area to be glued nearly flat, removing any ridges on the edge of the heel. This 15" by 30" sheet gives enough product to practice with. I went with the classic black this time out but I might try the light shade, too.
