Purchased this drone and love it. It's perfect for first time users and is very durable. It's crashed and burned a hundred times and still keeps ticking.Pros:The drone is definitely a keeper for beginners. Moving up to something more expensive before you master the basic controls will result in "fly aways", serious crashes and lost bucks.Battery recharge time is about an hour, but please pay attention to this particular point: When I started using this drone I was so impressed I would fly, recharge, fly, recharge, fly and recharge. Be aware that if you don't give the battery cool down time between charges, charge time can be reduced as low as 8 minutes and flight time reduced to about 30 seconds. Not good for the battery and frustrating to the user. When you fly it after a full charge let it cool for 45 minutes or so before plugging the charger in again. With that, you'll be a happy droner.This drone is nearly indestructible. It's very light weight, flies fast (on #3 setting) and takes good, but not great video and stills. It's fun and I am happy to have owned this drone as a beginner.Cons:Tried multiple times to contact "Sky Rocket" to ask if additional batteries were available. So far, after 2 emails and 2 phone calls, they have not replied. This tells me something I wasn't expecting. Fortunately, this drone is inexpensive and a great tool to sharpen your flying skills on before moving on to more costly drones.Would have given 5 stars, but customer support doesn't exist.Hope all of you that have purchased this drone have a great time with it. It is fun and, as stated, extremely durable. I advise purchasing a 16gb micro s/d card to get better video results. The 4 gig card included fills up quickly.Enjoy and "keep it up".Mick

I bought this product as a Christmas present for my 9 year-old son. It is actually very fun, and relatively easy to use. It does take some practice to master the controls, but once the learning curve is overcome, it is rather easy to fly. The camera works surprisingly well, and the video and photos are more crisp and clear than I expected. While it is constructed of lightweight plastic, it seems fairly sturdy, and has survived a couple of moderate crash-landings. Of course, landing on a surface such as grass is preferable, as it does seems a nasty crash onto a harder surface such as asphalt could damage the plastic parts. It does come with replacement rotors, and the guards seem to do a nice job of shielding the rotors. The model has a safety feature in which it immediately cuts power if it detects the rotors are stuck, which undoubtedly helps to protect the motor, rotors, and connecting gears. The one drawback to this product is the extremely short flight time provided by the rechargeable battery pack. As mentioned, it is really a lot of fun to fly, and it's disappointing that it flies for about 10 minutes or less per run. It does recharge rather quickly (fully charged in about 30 minutes aside from initial charge), but the short flight time prevents it from being a full 5-star product. But, for the price, this is a really good entry-level drone.

This was a Christmas gift fir my brother. Since it us winter here, he has only gotten to fly it a coupke'sle's tines...it's light and he cannot fly it when wind is blowing. But he has taken some really clear pictures with it, sort of amazing. Nice but cost effective gift.

Says that it's very strong but it broke on the very first flight (one of the arms cracked) . I'm not a beginner either. I love the Sky Viper Nano drone, I have that one too. But this one is way too expensive for how flimsy it is. Doesn't do well in wind either.

Let me tell you. This drone has been crashed in the beach and the lake and still works great. Sometimes losses signal and falls but still most of the time is great. I ordered a potensic premium and blew two motors in a week and sent it back. Then ordered a hubsan x4 and the rotors were locked straight out of the box! Waiting on a return now from that. But so far my trusty sky viper has kept on ticking.

This drone was a gift for my grandson for Christmas. He is having a great time and has learned to control this drone in no time. He has now become a pro at it and is able to fly it inside the house and outside with slight wind. The videos come out very clear and very steady. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again for any other family member in the near future.

Bought these for my grandson for Christmas. I shopped around my local stores and I couldn't find a local store that had a drone of the same quality, bells/whistles, and cost. Honestly, I was surprised that this drone was offered for that low a price.

Doesn’t stay in the air properly
