Software does not work and will not display higher resolutions. Unfortunately, would not recommend this unit

The product is good, but it has some things that do not quite convince me, I have a wireless router network, and when I use the data projector, often is to whatch videos on youtube, so I need to operate in client mode (STA Mode ) for internet access, then I need to change the password of my wifi router and all my wireless clients to match the device length password of WIFI2VGA, and that's not acceptable, and certainly the RJ45 connector is unusable (wtf).

I back up my DVDs as iso files and use VLC to watch them. With this gadget I can watch on the big TV or carry the usb drive and gadget to a friend's house for an evening of group entertainment. Easy to use and set up. Brilliant in fact

Not compatible with Windows 8 or 10. Don't waste your money

After reviewing the comments I decide to give a try after receiving the Unit, got a problem, it is very difficult to make it work with WIN 8, some times it work other not even using WIN 8 Compatibility setting.When it works (try different OS and PC and Displays) working as a mirror or extended display, it always truncate the image on the borders, I went to the Startech on line support, after some testing they told me the unit was broke and has to return it. Amazon did that with no problem, I receive the second unit and works almost the same, the only difference is in this unit now I can resize the screen to fit in, but i will not give me the more than an SVGA resolution, as I said I try different WON OS versions, Computers and displays it will not deliver 1280 x 1024 resolution.

I used this between PC and over head projector. It worked great with windows 7, but I have had trouble using it with windows 8. Then again I have had trouble using windows 8 period.

I'm no computer genius, but certainly competent enough to install a new OS, set up home wireless, etc. Installed this with software, just wouldn't work. Sometimes wouldn't even come on. Spent about an hour with tech support and sent it back. Amazon was great about the return. Don't waste your time.

Does not work in Windows 8 despite an hour on the phone to teck support. First guy I spoke to was a rude, vile git but second guy helpful but not resolved. Works well on XP.
