The story and illustrations are so delightful. The font is a perfect size for my daughter 7 yo and can read with a little bit of guidance.

No rudeness
Sometimes it can be hard to find chapter books that don't have rude characters or characters who do things I don't want my child doing. These chapter books have nice characters, simple plots, and black and white pictures on most pages. Both my 6 and 4 year old read all four books and I ordered the next 4. It's not the easiest chapter book but pretty close.
