This thing is awesome. It turns off after 15 minutes or so, which is just enough time for my granddaughter to fall asleep. It has a setting allowing you to change the basic color scheme, but she likes the soothing blue/ green theme, so we keep it there. It sort of pulsates and shifts back and forth, so the steady movement and the soft colors are great for helping kids fall asleep. We put it on the floor and it does a good job of creating a nice, soft glow in most of the room and on most of the ceiling. Don't know how long it will last, but we only use it for sleepovers every couple of weeks, so we might get a good long time out of it.

This is the first item like this I have bought and I can't say that I'm overly impressed with this light. The sound is on par with a cellphone and the movement is not smooth at all. It pauses and catches every time it makes a rotation. As far as the looks of it, again it just is not as nice as I thought it would be given the number of 5 star reviews it received. But because it is so inexpensive I have to give it 3 stars which means that I think "it's ok" It does project a wavy looking light on the ceiling and it will play music. I would suggest spending more and getting something of higher quality or not get anything like this in this price range.

I love all the colors, but especially the blue. If you have ever snorkeled in crystal blue waters, this will make you feel like you are underwater! It is ver soothing. I have bought 2 for my bedroom to overlap the wave motions. If you smoke or drink a little to get buzzed, it's a total trip! My husband and I buy these for gifts now. It is made of plastic, but we have ours on every night for the past 6 months with no problems. They have an hour timer, so they do not run all night when you are mesmerized to sleep. Even my dogs like to watch it on the ceiling and walls and it seems to calm them to sleep also. Very cool product! Don't buy the expensive ones and waste your money. You will be very impressed!

This product is just awful! It feels very cheap and i guess you get what you pay for. I connected the aux cable that comes with it and if you turn up the already super low volume, the decice completely shuts down. You will definetly not be able to use it to play any kind of music which I find to be false advertisement. If you plan on just using it fo lights I still don't recommend. It barely makes half an average sized living room glow.

Got this for my daughter, as she has trouble with outlets in her room. She loves it. Runs by battery. She really likes how it illuminates her room. It appears like waves. She also can plug her ipod into it, and use it as a speaker. It was a real win for the price. She finds it relaxing. I would recommend it.

I bought this for my boys ages 10 and 6 for a night light. WE LOVE IT!!!!!! It didn't come with detailed directions. It has 3 buttons and the middle one is the one we use to go through the colors to select which color for the night. One option is having the colors change pretty fast that would be great for a party or dance but not bed time. When it's on a set color it looks like water moving they fall asleep watching it. It came with a USB cable but no way plug into wall I used my old iPhone to wall adapter not a deal breaker for me. Have had no problems with it and if it breaks for whatever reason I will definitely buy another one.

**I need to edit my previous review. My daughter's light has stopped working completely and I can't find a way to get ahold of the company. This has caused me to take away two stars. If you get one that works, it's really a beautiful light. The lack of communication from the company is disappointing.I have purchased 3 of these as gifts and they are great! They shut off after an hour, which is fantastic so that the battery life isn't wasted. The colors are fantastic and my kids love the fast light show option. We haven't tried out hooking it up to audio yet. My only complaint is that one of ours is defective, and I don't know how to get ahold of the company. Since opening it at Christmas, my daughter's light never moved; it just projected the lights on the ceiling. But, she was ok with that so we didn't return it. Now, it will only turn to two different color settings (blue setting, green setting) rather than the 5-6 it originally would show. I'm just waiting for the day it dies and won't turn back on, which is unfortunate because she loves falling asleep under the waves.

My guy and I really love this--it's a really nice way to wind down at the end of the day and puts you in a nice fluid sleepy state. It doesn't stay on all night, but honestly, an hour swirling under waves us usually enough for us. There are a lot of cool settings--I was a little concerned after a few of the reviews but it's really been a nice addition to our nights. Can't beat the price either!
