Easy to put together
Jan 18 update - used this now for 2 years and now upgraded the rating to 5 stars. As many have said - brilliant piece of kit and so, so glad I bought it.Not yet yet used my new toy due to injury so this feedback is on the construction.... Very easy to put together - took about 20 mins but could do it again quicker - ignore the instructions saying you need half a tool box - all you need is 2 x 17mm spanners - preferably one spanner and one socket (both 17mm) plus a hammer and tea towel. There are 6 bolts to screw the sides onto the red extending bar - easy with a socket and spanner. You will need the hammer to tap/hammer the plastic bits in place on the uprights (you will understand when you see it) and the tea towel/towel is to put over the frame to protect it when hammering. Assemble all bits first before you tighten the bolts. Will update feedback once I have used the beast....but it certainly feels very sturdy and looking forward to using it.Rating as 4 stars for now due to ease of construction but looses 1 star because the packaging was very poor.Update - now used the kit a few times and whilst some of the negative comments are true eg the rubber on the catchers rucks up when you roll a bar along them, overall it is a great piece of kit. You don't notice the welding when using the kit so "who cares". It is solid and sturdy and makes training much much easier and safer. It takes some practice to get the settings right but - well worth the effort. Should have bought one years ago.Note I am 5 foot 10 and use a 6 foot Olympic bar. The max I have had on the squat each so far is 80kg but it was rock solid (note - while I wont recommend doing this I do not bother using the pre-drilled settings on the red bar and just extend the width as needed to prevent hitting the catchers when squatting but making sure the thinner red bar is inserted into the thicker bar by a few inches)

Ignore the 5 star reviews from people who never put any real weight on this thing
Poorly made. Warped and bent all over the place, partially assembled by them incorrectly,Ignore the 5 star reviews from people who never put any real weight on this thing, this thing is so poorly made that it's not worth the risk.Do yourself a favor and get literally any other product. Shoddy product

I Would have returned but couldnātā¦.
Well I have had the rack for over a month now⦠even though I have only just come to use it as powerhouse fitness took an age to deliver me my Olympic bar and weights! If these had come at the same time as the rack I would have to say I would have returned it.The main draw for me and reason I went for this rack in the first place was its compact design and ability to adjust the rack/safety catches to different positions so you can do multiple exercises⦠well let me tell you this is not an easy thing to accomplish without costing you an excessive amount of hardship and time.If you are buying this to do any program i.e. 5x5 5/3/1... Which would mean you would want to change the height of the rack or the safety catches then I would look elsewhere.Firstly the mechanism to adjust the height is a screw fitting, which to be stable has to be screwed in till it canāt go in any further. Once you have put weight on it and then try and change it with possibly sweaty palms. It becomes a challenge to unscrew as the weight has bedded down on the threading of the screw so itās really really hard to undo.Secondly regarding changing the height as holes aren't numbered or marked in anyway the only way to make sure that you are moving this to the correct position so the bar will sit level is to manually count the holes still visible or mark the rack so the ones you use regularly are easy to find. Finally again regarding altering the rack, this rack can also be moved to use as a dip station⦠but again itās that wonderful screw fitting which is made even harder to undo due to the position on the rack and the proximity to the floor. All in all I canāt really say anything to positive about the product hence the star ratingIt would be ok if you never wanted to move the position of the spot catchers or bar.Itās cheap⦠but to be fair itās not that cheap and for a little extra money which is what I should have spent in the first place you can get a truly and easily adjustable rack. Its construction is ok and looks like it will be ok to hold the weight capacity as listed. But this does not make up for what I deem to be simple bad design when it comes to altering the rack.Iām now looking for alternatives which will not be purchased from powerhouse fitness due to poor customer service for other items ordered from their company.

Fit for Purpose
DeliveryFirstly, I received this item in a single box weighing 35kg. Due to how the package is weighted, the poor box stood no chance during delivery. Polystyrene (spelling) would have solved the box disintegration issue. The item itself was slightly scratched, but the delivery experience wasn't bad enough for me to return it and ask for a replacement.BuildingEven though the box had slightly disintegrated, it took me longer to unbox than build. It takes 6 bolts and 5 screw locks and the item is built. One of the simplest items I have ever constructed. All that is needed it two adjustable wrenches and you are sorted.QualityThis is a fairly simple item designed to do a fairly simple task. It does that task well. It is sturdy and will hold weights. It will also save me from breaking my back. That is great. What is not great is the build quality. The welds looks terrible and the rubber protective band to protect the metal from the weight is extremely poor. It seems like no adhesive product has been used. If I roll my barbell along it, the rubber gathers whilst it rolls. A bit of glue will fix this, but I dont expect this when I buy an item for £160.Summary.I gave this 3 stars because it is fit for purpose, but not finely finished. Am I being fussy? Not if you read the other reviews. I will recommend to friends because it is sturdy and will work as intended.
