It works pretty well. Some of the email/ftp server settings will be confusing for non-technical people, but it is pretty simple to get it online and synced to your phone. It can notify your phone and email accounts, and take a picture of what it's detecting. I thought that what it said "record when it detects motion" it meant video to my ftp/hard drive, but it only takes snapshots (you can designate the amount and duration). You should know that to allow it to send my email the snapshots, I had to allow Google to accept connections from untrusted devices. I don't care about this, but someone might.Taking off 1 star because for a couple weeks this thing kept going crazy with notifications. I took it down from medium to the lowest motion detection thinking maybe light or some hanging laundry was making it go off; but even after I removed anything that could possible move from the shot, it would still spam my email with a tens of images until I ust turned it off. Turning it off/on again via the app, or resetting the camera with the app did not help. I unplugged it from the outlet and plugged it back in and it seems to have fixed the issue.It's a decent camera for a good price compared to the features you get with other motion sensitive devices on amazon, but it is a little buggy at some times. I also don't like how the camera settings do not match up to the settings on the client when viewed from a browser (for instance, motion detection on the computer will have lowest, low. medium, high, highest; but the phone app only has low, medium, high.

Bought this camera for its good reviews. It almost worked perfectly but I had two issues with it. First, the motion sensing. It works but it's little too sensitive to motion for my purpose. Although you can adjust the sensitivity but still wasn't satisfied 100%. Also on motion detection it only sends you snapshots in email and notifications on the app. The 2nd issue I had was that it stopped working. Now for this I was initially very upset and gave it a worse review. But thanks to both Amazon and Sumpple customer service I really had to change my mind about this product and change my review. Sample's customer service is great and they promptly sent me a replacement camera after hearing my issue. I always judge a product not just by the product itself but also by the people who makes them and then backs them up. Sumpple is no exception. They really backs their products and takes their customers seriously.

Had to send this thing back. Ignoring the security problems that anybody with network security or secure web development experience should quickly point out, the camera failed at the one task I needed--running a 24/7 stream. It just dropped out within each hour (I used RTSP). Yes I was using ethernet with a good cable and link.Something I assume was specific to the unit I got−it was completely missing the antenna. If you look at the manufacturer's support page and contact page, they look straight out of the early 90s and totally fail to provide self-help for firmware updates (which I also performed the latest update after working around a broken update process by reviewing the HTML).The price and 720p resolution got me to try it, but the problems were too much to ignore. Save yourself some trouble and pick something else by another company.

Great product with amazing customer service! I bought this camera in July 2016 and they helped me when I had trouble with the initial install - also, a piece was broken in the box and with no questions asked, they sent me a new one immediately... Fast forward to January 2017 - I got a new wireless router and had difficulty getting it connected again... I sent a message to them and had a response within 24 hours which helped and enabled me to establish connection again. Couldn't ask for better customer service!!!

This camera performs well. However it is only as good as your WiFi signal. If you have a weak signal you will not get consistent service. I like the sensor light that goes on when you get close to the camera (about 30 feet). It should startle the bad guys.

Works as advertised and the picture quality (both in regular and IR mode) is great. The built-in software works well along with the phone app and I've been also using it with the free version of iSpy on my desktop.RE: the company itself, when my unit first arrived I was able to setup my wireless with no problem but the connection itself was flaky. They had reached out to make sure I was satisfied and when I let them know about my issue they sent me a replacement antenna immediately to see if it would resolve the issue and it has.

I wasn't able to find a good brand for IP camera. I tried lots of them and I'm not satisfied with any of them. If you find any good brand let me know.

This is a great camera. I've got it set up to both notify me on my cell phone when the motion detector is triggered, but it also records video to my home computer via wifi when the motion detector is triggered. I ran into a couple of problems getting the computer recording set up, but the tech support was very fast and effective in helping me troubleshoot my settings. I am very happy.
