UPDATE (March 2025): I have consistently used this incubator for numerous hatches and it works beautifully every time. I haven’t had a single issue with it and I’ve successfully incubated dozens of baby chicks and grown my flock of yard birds. I took extra care with my last batch of eggs, ensuring that I selected only the most healthy eggs (instead of selecting a dozen without candling them) and all TWELVE babies hatched and were healthy. My favorite feature is the clear lid that allows you to watch the entire hatching process. When days 20-21 comes around, my kids and I gather around and watch as the babies pip and eventually find their way out of their shells. It’s such an amazing experience. If you’re looking for an excellent incubator for an excellent cost, buy this one. It doesn’t disappoint. Original Review: This wasn’t my first time hatching eggs, but it was my first time using the Kebonnixs incubator. I was very pleased with the results. I found it was easy to operate, kept both the temperature and humidity stable, and it reliably turned the eggs each day. All around it turned out to be a great product for hatching a small batch of chicks. I started with a dozen eggs, two of which had to be pulled before hatch day (one was infertile; the other had an embryo that failed to develop). Out of the ten that we had left, nine of them have successfully hatched. We’re giving the last chick a little more time to make a late appearance, but even nine out of ten chicks is a very satisfactory hatch. If you’re looking for an affordable, small, easy-to-use incubator…this is a great option! I’m very happy with my purchase and look forward to using it again to hatch another batch of baby chicks.

I just ordered my 3rd one yesterday because quail math caught up to me and I have more eggs coming tomorrow ! Oops! This incubator works perfectly, super reliable and hasn’t failed me ever. I’ve had 2 of them for 4+ years . Ive had amazing hatch rates, I can see the babies really well and they have space to move (I have an Etsy made quail egg turner so it holds 22 jumbo quail eggs per incubator) I add shelf liner cut to shape for the floor when it’s time for lockdown! Super easy to use and I only add water at the end to hike up humidity. Definitely worth it when its price was 100$ and now.

Arrived fast-set it up plugged it in and had even temps and good humidity within an hour. It’s so quiet can hardly hear it! Placed in eggs we had gathered for the past 10 days in the Kebonnixs 12 egg incubator within 2 hours of setting it up. Keeps even 99.5 temp (in the recommended temp range for forced air incubators). Humidity stays in recommended range also in the high 40’s to 50’s with vent halfway open (halfway is the knob in the middle) keeping water full daily below the notches or it will overfill into the second chamber (which is only for last few days). Photos of grouped eggs are candled at 3.5 days. There’s a quitter in the lighter group of 7 eggs second egg on left row down (the one with a red ring) this egg had an air sack on the opposite end at beginning of incubation-no fault of incubator. We removed this egg. We also candled all of our eggs the first evening after beginning and noticed a hairline crack in a porous elongated egg that had been gathered 10 days prior to incubation -repaired it with super glue about 16 hours later-kept in there as an experiment as we had room for it- note: this egg is still surviving as of day 4. Orange/brown colored wyandotte eggs group are showing spider veins at 3.5 days. The eggs are rotating gently full circle every 12 hours with the auto turner. Have it in kitchen so we can watch the whole process. The candler is like having an ultra sound at our fingertips to see the progress and works great. Candle at beginning to check for defects and mark air pocket. We do not remove the lid to candle we tilt it up a bit and take out a few eggs and close it back. We also close the vent when we candle to allow the humidity to elevate back up faster. The best dates to candle are days 7, 14 and 18. The earliest day you may see life is between day 3-7. (Sometimes we can’t help ourself and candle on day 3 to see if there’s a spider shape showing up and check for quitters.) This is a great little incubator has all the eggs at even temps. We don’t have to raise the lid unless want to candle. We are enjoying the auto turner as we don’t have to worry that the eggs are not turned enough. Our hens are older and are not ones to go broody we wanted to get some more chickens from our flock. This Kebonnixs incubator is the closest thing to having broody hen and we get to watch it all take place. (Of course hatching them is the fun easy part the hard part comes afterward). Will update as incubation progresses.

This was my 1st time using an incubator. Hopefully I can provide some information to help others avoid a couple of my mistakes. I ordered quail eggs and of the 18 that went in, only 5 hatched. They were shipped eggs so not sure how much that may have contributed. I also think I had the humidity a bit too low during the 1st phase (35%-ish). My biggest problem was not understanding how the countdown timer worked. I set it for 18 days. It counts backwards from 18 to 1. I thought when the counter hit day 1 is when you put them in lock-down. I failed to understand that when the counter hits 15 is when I should have put them in lock-down and raised the humidity to 70-75%. I did raise the humidity once it hit day one, but I think it was too late for a lot of the eggs. Of the 5 that hatched, the 1st one could have drown in the water reservoir because in my excitement to get the turner tray removed and the dome back on, I forgot to put the small “lid” back over the water reservoir. It was when I was watching him/her and it decided to go for a swim I realized my mistake. Luckily I was able to quickly get him out, get that lid on and get them covered back up. He dried off and is doing fine. I did also cut some rubber shelf liner to put down under the eggs for lock-down so that when they hatch it lessens the chance for splay-legs. So far so good. As far as the incubator itself – It is easy to set up. I did keep a towel wrapped around the dome (not over the vent) to help keep the heat stable. It’s default is a 21 day hatch (chickens). It’s very easy to change that. The turn tray it comes with are for chickens. You can order one for quail directly from the company and there are some folks on Etsy that sell 3D printed ones. Luckily my husband has a 3D printing business and printed mine. The dome and base have 2 small notches. Make sure you line them up. It helps give a better seal to help retain heat and humidity. It’s very easy to unseat this. I do find the way you adjust the humidity to be easy in theory, but temperamental in execution. It’s via a well on the outside of the incubator. Depending on what “fill line” you use determines if your are filling for incubation or hatch (always fill with warm water – adjusts the humidity faster). I also ended up putting a damp sponge in there during lockdown to get the humidity up to 70%. The humidity where you live will probably impact this as well. The humidity seems to fluctuate a lot. I think having the incubator someplace where you can also have an external humidifier would help a with this. My biggest complaint with the incubator is that it doesn’t have a handle for the dome. The dome is awkward to grab with one hand and if you are just trying to tip up the lid to minimize heat/humidity loss as much as possible for removing dry chicks and done eggs it’s way too easy to lose control of it. All in all. It is a very inexpensive incubator, so obviously won’t have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive system. For someone that’s looking to get started with quail I think it’s a decent incubator. From what I've been reading, it's on par with some other models that are a bit expensive. I’m hopeful my next batch has a much better hatch rate now that I better understand how this one works.

*** UPDATE Last year was my first experience using this incubator. 8 out of 12 shipped eggs hatched. I used it again just last month and 6 hatched. I’m on my third round and on lockdown and as of today, all 12 are looking great. I tried two other incubators because I originally needed a larger one. Neither one had accurate humidity readings and one had ZERO way to adjust the humidity- no holes or window whatsoever to change air flow. This incubator is really the best I’ve tried. It’s a good size, works well, cleans up easily and has good results. I haven’t found unhatched eggs to be due to the incubator function- for whatever reason, they just weren’t good eggs to begin with, or just were quitters. If all the eggs are put in at the same time and they all experience the same temperature and humidity, and only some hatch- I think logically the problem lies with the eggs that didn’t hatch. They’re the only variable. I hatched chicks for the first time in my life with this. Out of 12 eggs, 2 didn’t make it past ten days, and 2 never hatched. 8 chicks hatched and it was a beautiful thing to watch. My kindergarteners loved it! It was very simple to use and my only recommendation would be to keep the incubator with you unless you can guarantee humidity where you keep it. I tried keeping it in my classroom the first 2 days and each day I arrived, the humidity was way too low so I was frantically putting in a damp sponge square to raise the levels asap. After this happening, I just took it home with me where someone was always around to check the humidity level. I don’t know if this was a flaw with the incubator, but I had to regulate it often. The temperature was always spot on but the humidity varied greatly. Just an fyi.

I noticed my chickens were making a massive clutch of eggs, but hadn't decided who should sit on them yet. I bought this to ensure that I had some hatchlings, while my new mothers took some time for their instincts to set in. All in all, I just let-'er rip and put some distilled water in the water hole when the humidity dropped below 50% (about every day in my dry house). The machine took care of the rest, and gives live readings on the temp and humidity inside. The buttons are clearly labeled, so you don't have to search for the manual to figure out what multi-function button turns the Candling Light on and off, or informs you of how many days remain until chicks start hatching. I'm not sure what all conditions will activate the beeper, besides pressing buttons, but if there is a beep for any kind of error, you will certainly hear that thing throughout a house. That could be nice, if you have someone that may explore the features without permission. I like that there's a little, protected fan in there to keep the air fresh and blow-dry the newborn chicks. A couple minor imperfections I noticed are: - I wanted to hatch a couple of jumbo eggs that came from my ISA Brown chicken, but there were some rare eggs that were just too big to roll freely and couldn't be used in this machine. - Once chicks begin hatching, there is very little room for them to move, though I suspect it isn't that much different from mom being parked on top of them. The time between hatch and transfer to a brooder is only a day or two anyhow, so as long as there's not so much light that they try to move too much, it's probably fine. My first two chicks had to wait overnight for their siblings to hatch, so I replaced their empty shells with a couple tops that came from empty spice shakers (the red ones with the flip-up tops). I filled one lid with water and the other with their starter kibble. To my surprise, they started eating and drinking immediately, but they couldn't fit past eachother to go back and forth to the dishes. This resulted in some rivalry, but turning off all the lights got them to snooze peacefully. All in all, I'd say it's pretty effective and troubble-free , with my only suggestions being a slightly larger egg-turning grid for jumbo eggs, and possibly a means to subdue the ambient light when you're not staring at the eggs and cheering them on.

After using this incubator for the better part of 2 years, I'm throughly impressed by its features and its reliability. Design and build quality ---------------------------- The incubator's design is well though out and mainly oriented by function. The materials used are study and long lasting. There is a transparent lid that allows you to easily monitor the egg hatching process without constantly opening and closing the lid which disturbs the eggs, thus maintaining a stable environment for the eggs. Functions ----------- This incubator has the capacity of 12 eggs, which is enough for the majority of hatching enthusiasts. The automatic egg turner is really a game changer, you no longer have to keep time and turn the eggs on your own, this incubator will ensure that the eggs are regularly and gently turned, simulating the natural environment and behavior of a mother hen. This features will save you lots of time and worry as egg turning is one of the most important factors in a successful hatch. Humidity display ----------------- The built in humidity display is a crucial feature and is the feature that sets this incubator apart from others. The digital display is bright and accurate and makes it easy to keep track of humidity levels and thus improving the chance of a successful hatch Egg candler ------------- The included egg candler function (you press a button and it lights up the egg) is a handy and welcomed function of the incubator, it allows you to check the progress of the embryos and allows you separate and discard the eggs that no longer have live embryos inside. Ease of Use ------------- The incubator comes with a detailed instructions manual which will teach you about its functions and capabilities. Truthfully speaking, I would have been completely lost without the manual, and during the earlier stages of me using the incubator, I was constantly checking back to the manual to make sure I was doing everything right. For some, this may be cumbersome and frustrating, so keep that in mind. Reliability ------------ This is one of the biggest determinant in me deciding which incubator to purchase, and thankfully this incubator has been extremely dependable throughout my 2 years of using it. The temperature and humidity controls are accurate, which goes a long way in increasing the likelihood of a successful hatch. Value for money ----------------- For its price (<$100), this incubator simply can't be beat on its value for money ratio. It's extremely cost effective and will enable not just enthusiasts but also beginners a chance to hatch eggs on their own. In conclusion, I believe the Kebonnisx 12 egg incubator is a well rounded, reliable and functional incubator for those wanting to hatch their own eggs. I highly recommend it!

I am new to incubating eggs and was both excited and anxious about trying this out. To begin with, this truly is a beginner’s machine which I couldn’t be more grateful for because I would have been lost trying to operate this machine straight out of the box and trying to figure out the correct heat and humidity levels. Instructions are easy to understand aside from the grammatical errors, which don’t affect the understanding of how the incubator works. I successfully hatched 3 chicken eggs out of 6. Not sure if it was the length of time that the eggs were in transit before I received them that led to this or if it was due to the machine itself that only half of the eggs hatched (though the 3rd baby passed). As I mentioned, I’m new to hatching eggs and in my research I have found that many individuals have opinions on how eggs should be hatched and what methods and temps are used. I just followed the directions enclosed with the unit since I am far from being an expert. The incubator is compact in size. I was able to place it on my nightstand so that I could monitor the progress of the eggs and in case heat and humidity levels were off. The humming noise is not loud. I like the automatic egg turning feature as well as the machine coming already calibrated for you to hatch chickens. Not sure yet how these are modified to incubate other types of birds. Having an egg candler on the unit itself I found helpful. I was surprised though that it didn’t come with a mat to give traction to baby chicks when they are born since they likely would slip and slide around everywhere which can cause splayed legs from what I understand. I made my own mat to line the inside of the incubator with a grip liner used for the inside of cabinets to avoid this. I will point out that I don’t like how the humidity, at least on my machine, constantly goes up and down. That stressed me out to no end. I was constantly checking and adjusting with adding water. It would really stay level and I’m not sure how much or how little a dip or spike in humidity can effect the eggs. Heat temp was stable, humid reading on machine was not. Not sure if this is the norm with this unit. I’ll be doing a test run before my next batch of eggs using a hygrometer. Like I mentioned; I don’t know if the premature egg deaths were due to the fluctuations in the machines temp readings or that my eggs weren’t incubated in a timely manner since they got delayed in transit. Cleaning of the unit is easy, I’ll add that as well. Hoping that I’ll be able to better gauge this machines functions and what works to keep the humidity level aside from fidgeting with the vent and water vessel.

Excellent little incubator. This is my second year using it. It holds temperature and humidity extremely well.

Na doch recht kurzer Lieferzeit kam der inkubator bei mir an. Der Karton der Maschine war leicht beschädigt und geflickt. Ausgepackt und festgestellt das keine Anleitung vorhanden ist, kein Problem... man kennt die Dinger und es ist kein hexenwerk diese bedienen zu können.... jedoch ist es gar nicht möglich eine Temperatur oder Wendezeit einzustellen! Das Hygrometer zeigt praktisch immer die selben Werte an, im Bereich von 50-60% egal wie viel Wasser drin ist, oder wie weit die lüftungsöffnung offen ist... was natürlich am Hygrometer der Machine liegt, da mit externen getestet. Das Licht zum schieren der Eier war leider auch schon bei Erhalt defekt.... die Temperatur ist fix auf 100F eingestellt und hält sich dort angeblich gut... absoluter Blödsinn... die Temperatur pendelt von unten nach oben und variiert dabei um satte 3 Grad ! Somit ist ein ausbrüten eig unmöglich... schade, da er doch vom Material her einen sehr guten Eindruck macht. Geht natürlich zurück...
