This product does help but so far no miracle cure
This does help and reduces the burning and swelling, but sadly no miracle cure for me. I purchased this back in November and by the time it arrived in the mail the outbreak was pretty much over, so I have waited for the next one to leave a review. When I woke up one morning in March and had that burning feeling on my lip I knew a cold sore was on the way, so I applied the herp-b-gone and the burning and pain did reduce immediately. However I am now at day 8 and the little blisters are still bubbling away. On the good side they did not swell up and turn into one big blister, but they did not disappear fast either. It looks like the recovery will take the usual (for me) 14-16days. This is also a nice lip salve if your lips are cracked and dry and surprisingly it also seems to clear up spots and skin blemishes! The worst feature of the product is it does not travel well in the container provided. At a low temperature the product is like a gel and is ok in the container. However at higher temperatures it turns into a liquid and leaks out of the container badly. I must have lost about half in my suitcase in the first flight as it leaked out seriously when it got hot and turned to a liquid. Luckily I had it in a plastic bag so not too much got onto my clothing. Even when I put cling film or tin foil over the top it still leaked on the next flight around the threads, so the container is not really suitable to travel with this product in varying temperatures.

This works if you stick with it.
it did work to some extent but did not cure of me herpes and did not buy it since I had to save the money.

I call it magic!
I recently got HERP-B-GONE because I'm about to start interviewing with several companies, and the last thing I want is a fever blister to show up the day before one of these meetings. After reading some of the reviews and checking out the ingredients list (lots of natural anti-viral components), I got excited and thought I would give it a try. I've tried just about everything to treat fever blisters--lasers, tooth paste, ice cubes, all over-the-counter solutions, prescriptions, aspirin crushed and made into a paste... But, I've never tried anything as a preventative measure outside of taking L-lysine.As of now, I've had about a week of use with the product. I'm not trying to treat any fever blisters, and I wasn't concerned about getting one this week per se. Like most people who get fever blisters, I would love to prevent another one from ever showing up. Like I mentioned above, the balm has several anti-viral ingredients, so it makes perfect sense that it would be perfectly suitable to help prevent the herpes virus from expressing itself. But, what I hadn't considered were the other uses listed in small print on the label--"also helps heal acne, insect bites and skin rashes". The last few months, I've had the worst time with my skin and everything I've tried has only made it worse. I stopped trying different acne treatments and reduced my skincare routine to washing my face with warm water, a witch hazel toner, and either a little bit of vitamin E oil or coconut oil on my cheeks as a moisturizer. Low and behold, it only got worse. So, I gave up, or at least I gave up for a little while--I was tired of hunting for my solution. Anyway, back to the product, I thought "why not try this out on the rest of my face?". I didn't really have anything left to lose and the balm felt nice on my lips. My skin had no immediate reactions (burning, swelling, itching--things I sometimes find in natural acne skincare products because they're too concentrated in harsh essential oils like peppermint or tea tree). While this balm does have lemon, peppermint, tea tree, and ginger root oil--they definitely have the right proportions in the balm because it's very soothing and mild. The next day when I woke up and went to the bathroom to see how my skin was managing, I was shocked. My face, neck, and chest were at least 50% healed from all the acne related skin problems I've been having for months. I couldn't get over it. I'm still not over it. It was like my skin was working overtime, eliminated new breakouts that started showing in the last day or so, and shrunk/healed what was already there. I thought for certain that it would have clogged my pores, but it absorbed well in my skin, soothed all the redness and irritation from the breakouts, and was well on its way to healing everything--and healing it quickly. I wish I found this stuff ages ago.To wrap up this review, I just want to say that I highly recommend HERP-B-GONE. Not just as a preventative means for someone who deals with fever blisters. If you're having trouble with your skin--regular breakouts or not, this balm has been immensely helpful for me and my skin problems. And, it hasn't come at the cost of creating other skin-related problems like many acne problems do. I know that my experience with this product sounds bizarre. If I were reading this, I would be super suspicious because I've had a history with trying so many skincare products and even getting on prescriptions for my skin that ultimately didn't come through with what they promised. I can't say that I know for certain that this will solve your skincare problems, but if you could get the quick results that I did with my breakouts--it is definitely worth a shot. After seeing the miracle that was my face after my first night of using it, I went ahead and ordered a couple more containers. I never want to run out of this stuff.

Works "ok"
I bought this in Oct. 2015 to try it for breakouts. It's works better than a lot of creams/salves, but it isn't the miracle balm it claims to be. It does absolutely nothing for the itch or pain involved in lesions for me. It is a good moisturizer (but is rather greasy-leaves a film on your skin). This is probably good for skin protection though. It will help to heal the sore faster than some creams for sure. It smells a bit like lemongrass, is a yellow green color & the jar is big & will last you a long time. I still have a little more than half a jar full still. So, in that respect it is a good value for the money. It's worth trying, but honestly as far as speed healing & soothing relief, I have yet to try anything better than Prosur-X. Unfortunately, Prosur-X is ridiculously expensive, so I'm always looking to find something cheaper that will work as well (which is why I tried this product). I alternate applications between this & Prosur-X to make it last longer. Prosur-X when the lesion is at it's worst inflammation & pain & then Herp-B-Gone when it starts calming down. I am also currently using Monolaurin supplements too, & I have to say that has made a big difference in the duration of a breakout. It will either stop the breakout from happening if taken at the earliest sign, or shorten it to 3 days or so without a huge breakout. I highly recommend trying Monolaurin to try to stop the virus in its tracks. It has been working pretty well so far for me.
