Smoke Em If You Got Em
It does what it was designed to do - run screaming fast in a USB-3 port. I long/full formatted the entire 64GB unit as NTFS in 8 minutes using an EVGA PC motherboard SuperSpeed USB-3 port (completed 8GB/min or 133MB/sec , Bytes, not bits) - that's like writing about a full CD worth of data in 5 seconds! That is writing (not faster reading) at about 22% the maximum theoretica; USB-3 bus speed. In comparison, it takes a regular 4GB USB-2 Kingston G3 ($5) stick 15 minutes for the same operation (32x slower). If you can afford a new PC or laptop with USB-3 ports, you must also have one of these to make good use of that port. It is worth noting that after the massive 64GB high-speed format, the stick was very warm and surprised me when I grabbed it to extract it from the port - guess that's what all that blue cooling metal wrap is for! The 133MB/sec format speed is right at the advertised write speed, so I'm not sure about some reviewers' complaints of mis-advertising, even though I recognize "real data writing" could be slower for multiple files or many small files. At some point, it becomes difficult to go any faster because you cannot adequately dissipate the heat. Recommended if needed, and if affordable - esp. for frequent and/or very large file transfers. Kingston makes great memory products of many types to suit many use and price-point needs. Hyper-X 3.0 is their new flagship, replacing their previous Hyper-X USB-2 unit (which I also own). As is often true, Amazon rocks again with the best price - thanks!

Fast, reliable, large capacity
I bought one of these drives 8 months ago, and I have used it daily since then. It lives up to its stated data rates (130MB/s write, 220MB/s read on USB 3.0). 4-hour-plus full backups with my USB 2.0 device now take 45 minutes. Size is small, for a 128GB device, though it's larger than all my smaller-capacity flash drives. It works fine on USB 2.0 as well, though at much lower data rates. All in all, I don't have anything bad to say about this device. Then, I lost it. So, I'm buying another to replace it. Can't live without it.

Fastest USB Drive for 2013
This is undeniably the fastest USB Flash drive you can buy in 2013.My measured speeds are 277735 KB/s Sequential Read 193984 KB/s Sequential Write on NTFS with a 4k block size.4KB random IOPS run at 2154 Read and 353 Write,The Flash drives speeds at USB 3.0 are the best I have ever seen to date, and usage is rock solid. The only possible negative I could note is that the stick is rather thick and could be trouble in certain ports, however it IS offset to one side, so this allows it to work around some location problems.Very Happy with the performance so far.

Fast and fat
Most of the other reviews are spot on. Other than the couple of defective units, slow speeds are typically using it in a manner that cannot achieve the maximum speed. Specifically (as mentioned before) small files do not copy at the same higher rate as large files due to OS overhead and anti-virus protection (if applicable). Also, the speed of the computer's drive affects the real world results. Copying from an SSD drive achieves a higher transfer rate than a traditional spinning disk. I also expect some USB 3.0 capable ports are running at 2.0 speeds due to driver issues. When I first received the drive I tested with with a generic speed test tool and received low data transfer rates (only 2.5 times as fast read speeds than USB 2.0 - 170 MB/Sec read 38 MB/Sec write). I then tested using CrystalDiskMark with the file size set to 1000MB and received the advertised speeds (244 MB/Sec Read & 147 MB/Sec write).Benchmarks and theoretical speeds are fine but it's the real world file copy speed that I'm interested in. Using two files totaling 5.5 GB, copying from an SSD took one minute which is 91 MB/sec. That's close enough for me to not look into it further right now because those same files took 4 1/2 minutes to copy to my old 16GB USB 3.0 drive (the size of the flash drive makes a tremendous difference in speed which you can see by looking at their rated speeds). This isn't a fair comparison but the speed increase is why I bought a new one.Keep mind that the rated speed is always best case or theoretical and that your speeds will almost always be lower. How much depends on your system and how you're using it.I took away one star for the thickness. My work PC has recessed USB ports and other similar USB drives are slimmer. As always, Amazon delivered as promised with a good price and shipping quickly.

Worth the Money
I have now owned this for 8 years. It has served me well for all the transfers I do. Still fast and reliable. You can't go wrong with Kingston.

Veloce e Capiente
