Lightwedge Original Gift Pack (Black)

If you're looking for a product that will let you read at night without disturbing someone else or in a place where there's hardly any light at all to read then this is the product for you. I bought this originally to give this to my mother-in-law and didn't get it due to supply issues originally, but when I finally tried again to order this again and got it --- I was very pleased. This device illuminates a small room and is powered with 4 AAA batteries so I would suggest investing in rechargeable batteries to save yourself some money using this product. You can either put the wedge in between pages to read both sides of a book (usually the size a regular paperback type of book) but I have also tried to use it reading computer books (which are larger) and other types of books as the dimensions of this product only cover a certain area of the book when using it if you're placing the clear plastic sides of the wedge down onto the page itself. If you use it by placing the wedge directly between the pages held up (Like placing a bookmark in the book when you're not reading it) then you can see both sides very well and it's clear. The plastic wedge should be put into a cover to prevent damage or scratching for long use and also when you want to clean it (because finger prints do show up on it as you use it) then just use a soft cloth to wipe it and whatever you do don't use cleaning materials at all as this could damage the plastic wedge. I have a gentle glass cleaner which I'm going to try which has vinegar in it to clean the one I use as the instructions tell you not to use harsh cleaners or chemicals on the wedge.All in all I would day this is a good product and if you like reading or studying at night then this would be something you would be interested in having. Please be patient as it took me almost 9 months to get one but I think stock levels should be ok as I received mine on the third order within 2 1/2 weeks. I hope this helps you out as I think it's really good and helpful to have.

Having tried a number of book lights over the years, I think it will be impossible to find one better than this. I imported one from the States over 18 months ago and bought the case separately - it is used almost every day and it's still on the original batteries (4x AAA - not button cells or anything special). It has two illumination levels - I've just had to start using the higher level, so either my eyes are going or the batteries are finally starting to fade. Treat it carefully and you shouldn't have any problems with scratching (and the manufacturers make a polish for this). If I had to pick one fault, you need to get used to the extra weight on top of the book - especially if you read lying down.

I cannot sleep with the light on, so my husband has one of these. He can read for as long as he likes, while I can sleep because the light given out shines only on the page.It does get scratched easily, though.

It does what it says! One can read perfectly with it.It spreads the light evenly over the book page. Just one thing you i am concerned with: it gets scratched easily. and only for this i rate it 4 stars only.
