very handy tool-
Received my Bosch MX25EC-21 yesterday, and immediately started to check it out.....The unit was in its "bag", and although some of the reviews complained that the bag looked cheap, it looked pretty sturdy to me....No, you can't toss this bag on a roof, or work site and abuse it, but for the ordinary guy it is more than OK.....I have a lot of heavy duty power tools that came in rugged plastic cases that are a real pain-in-the-butt when it comes to carrying them around....Sooooo, most of the time, I leave the case and simply take the tool....Too much bulk to carry around....This is not the case with this tool. The unit was strapped in the bag with velcro ties and the accessories were in a nice plastic type container.....Opened the container, and the first item I saw was the "hardwood blade", and it was covered in rust....The rust was not in the "teeth", but on the side and bottom where it is attached to the tool.(tried to take a photo, but the camera didn't reproduce the rust well because of the black background).....What really upset me was that the person that packed this tool HAD to see the rust, but apparently didn't care and put it in the container anyway.....Well, the next thing I did was look to see where the manufacturer was located...In Prospect,Il......The too itself is made in Malaysia.......So some yahoo somewhere there put a rusted attachment in the case. The other attachments had a light coat of oil on them, but this piece did not....REALLY ticked me off....I do not buy cheap tools (learned something in my 65 years on this planet)...All my tools are professional grade, and this is the first Bosch product I have purchased.....There is no excuse for this to happen....Someone should have caught it.The tool itself is heavy ( I like that)...It has very little vibration, and relatively quiet.....Seems to be well built, and I have to admit, is fun to use.....It make really difficult jobs easy, and saves a lot of time taking out the bigger tools to do the same job.....The accessories are expensive, but all of them are, unless you are getting junk......Oh, and one more thing about the accessories.....Use them for what they are designed for and they should last you a long time....You can't use the wood blade to cut down your oak tree! The thing that you have to remember when using ANY tool, is that you have to let the "TOOL" do the work....Avoid the temptation to "muscle" through the project....I am a big guy, and a gym rat, and have destroyed more tools and attachments in my younger days than I care to think about.....And the job winds up looking sloppy also.....If you overheat the blade it will destroy the blade and in most cases will destroy the project....Especially if it is a plastic type composite. So, although a lot of you may think that $100+ is a lot to spend on this type of tool, it is worth it in my opinion.....The tool makes some projects that would be almost impossible to do, easy....And if you take your time, the job will look professional....And did I mention that it is fun to play with.

The BEST oscillating tool I've found
I work at the big orange box store and have handled and used several of the other brands of oscillating tools. By far and away the Bosch is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. I found that it is actually quieter than both the Rigid Tool and the Dremel. The Bosch in my opinion easier to handle and has a great range of speeds. The down side of the Bosch variable speed is where the control is located. It would be a lot easier to change speeds if it was located where you could thumb up and down without moving your hand.I'm presently utilizing the tool during two bathroom remodels. I've used the cutting blades to cut the old underlayment close to the built in vanity base and along the edge of the tub. The Bosch performed above and beyond what I expected. The thing to remember with the oscillating tool is to let it do the work and not get in a hurry. It is not as a fast of a cut as a circular saw so just be patient. The Bosch comes with a bag to carry the tool and blade case in. I've found it is large enough to hold both. The plastic box that is supplied for blade and sanding pad storage is nice. It has slots for the bigger blades to set down into to keep the blades for rubbing each other and becoming dull.Overall I highly recommend the Bosch MX25EC-21.12.17.11 Update: I've had this tool now for over 90 days and it continually keeps on amazing me as to the tasks I can accomplish with it. In my master bath remodel I'm having to trim the bottoms of 4 door casings to allow the new thicker underlayment, Ditra and tile to fit in under. The MX25 makes easy work of the job. It is easier to trim the casings and slide the new tile under the casing and trim than it is to try and cut tile to fit next to them. Also makes for a neater looking installation. The only downside I've found on the MX25 is that if you use it alot, then expect to spend additional monies on new blades, especially the plunge cut 1" blades. I'm now on my third one and on the second 3/4 round blade. Blades are fairly expensive, but still an acceptable cost because the MX25 gets the job done. Another use I found for the MX25 was when I was removing the old 60" vanity top. It had been silicon'd to the top of the wood vanity. Since I was donating the old vanity to Habit for Humanity I wanted to salvage it intact. I used the MX25 on a low speed and a plunge cut blade to carefully cut through the silicon caulking and did not damage either the vanity nor the vanity top. Without the MX25 this would have nearly been impossible job to have performed. Again, I cannot give a better recommendation for any tool that I've ever purchased. If you don't own this tool, then you just don't know what your missing.
