just give the ISP your mac address and hook the thing up and you're in business. This changes IP addresses constantly and there doesnt seem to be much of anything to configure if you can login to it. But....it works.

Always skeptical on buying refurbished modems as the modem may be tied to the original account before someone returned it. You have to call your ISP and they'll have to add the modem to your account in order to get it to work. Called my ISP, did the swap, modem rebooted a few times as it does firmware updates when it boots up for the first time. It's been a couple months and have had no issues. This modem does have the bad Intel Puma chip which causes packet loss and stutters but it seems like it's been fixed with firmware updates.

It worked good while it lasted but I bought it last July/2022 and now March/2023 it's already dying out.

I'm pretty tech savvy, but as much as I know about tech, I have always been weary of owning my own equipment due to the fear of messing up a setting or getting the wrong part. No more.. Setup was a breeze once I got my cable modem up and running. The whole process, from setting up my cable modem to setting up this router took all of 15 minutes. I couldn't have asked for a simpler solution.As a matter of fact, my bill instantly reduced on the website when I activated my modem with my internet provider.

The worst. No instructions no software, nothing except dirty cables, that came arrived in an unsealed package.Never got item to work.Do not waist time nor money.

These are the Motorola Surfboards under the Arris name so they are high quality, fast and easy to setup.

I don't like renting cable modems. This one worked well and looked new. I would buy again.
