ABC Pet Cat Ottoman Bed

Replaced a former hassock of the same size which became moldy and had to be tossed. Same width/height as prior hassock that had a top that opened that I had from the 60's! I had to find one same size as it was perfect by my desk for hanging files/bills as there's not enough room for a full file cabinet. One of my cats loves to hide in various places, so she'll eventually end up there. I can sit on it and I'm almost 150 lbs (I remember when previously reading reviews some said it wouldn't be solid enough). Perhaps if getting up and down constantly, no, but mine is in a stationary position and the files weigh at least 30 lbs. Only complaint is the stench from chemicals when first opened-left it and the cat cushion to be aired out by open windows for a couple of weeks before bringing it in house. It does say "compliant for formaldehyde phase-2", whatever that means, but it did remind me of the smell from biology classes in high school. I do hope it's not toxic for my beloved kitty, or, maybe that's why she hasn't used it yet. Puts together in seconds and I would say sturdy enough, at least for my purposes.

Not bad. Kinda cheap but works as a good foot stool. Cat's were interested in it for about 5 minutes thenmoved on to something else. Of course they are cats, hard to keep their attention long. Might be goodfor small kittens.

One of my cats loves this Ottoman cave. She just doesn't quite understand the concept that I should also put my feet up on the stool while she's in there. If looks could kill, I would be dead! She meows at me and gently but firmly tries to push my feet and legs off of her ottoman. I never thought of that happening!The ottoman serves my purpose, however, she just doesn't know it. I wanted something I could put my feet up on because this particular new chair came with an ottoman that was far too big to add to my living room. I like that I can fold it up until I want to sit in that chair, which is usually at night, when I want to watch television.It's not something you would really want to leave on display, since it's obviously not leather nor does it claim to be. My cat would like it if I left it out all the time but despite what she thinks, I actually run the house, although there are days that I question that!I recommend it for use both as a portable ottoman or a "hidey hole" for your kitties. I think it will last a long time, no matter the use you intend.

I cant understand all these glowing reviews! They led me to believe i was getting something of some quality or that might look something remotely like leather .... it is not. it is thin cardboard box with a nylon cover and plastic top - worth max $15.So far none of my cats have used it but i sure hope they do ... as it does not look good enough to be used as a foot rest.

This product is great! I was hesitant in buying this, as when I was researching like items, I came across a lot of "so-so" to "bad" reviews. One constant that seemed to be everywhere, was the smell. I didn't want something that stunk up the room, nor something that my cat completely ignores. I was surprised by this. The smell, if any, was almost non-existence and the "assembly time" (if you can call it that) was quick and simple. Our one kitty has developed a fear of thunderstorms. When those big booms hit, he takes off running. He goes to any possible spot that he can cram himself into. I bought this for him, and placed it out of the way. I showed it to him a few times, so he could get used to it. I was hoping that he would recognize this as a safe refuge from the loud storms. The next loud storm came, and he took off running to hide. I found him later, tucked inside his new, safe hidey-hole. It's well made, looks nice and actually could be used as an ottoman if needed. I wouldn't put a ton of weight on it, but it can sustain some weight.

When I received this bed it was in a package with the same brown bed that is pictured here. When I opened it, the package included a completely different bed. Not only was the bed black, it had no stitching on top and no plush pillow. When I decided to look back at my order history to check if I had made a mistake, I noticed I didn't make a mistake they actually put a cheaper and smaller ottoman inside this box and sent it to me. To find out they ripped me off and gave me a cheaper one makes me very angry. Instead of requesting a new one to be sent I am getting a full refund and taking my money somewhere else.

These are surprisingly sturdy. They are spacious; much larger than the cubby holes in any of the cat trees we own. One of my cats was inside of it within 10 seconds of setting it up. It comes with a thin cushion for inside the ottoman, and the top is also padded. The product box was completely crushed and had black smears on it as though it had been run over by a car, but the external shipping box came in pristine condition, so I'm sure the damage occurred before it was packed for shipping. In spite of the road-killed box, the ottoman inside was pretty much unscathed. If you get one that looks crushed, open it and check it out before you send it back. I almost sent it back without looking, but it turned out to be fine.

Was worried it would be flimsy but not. Steadily holds my legs considering I weigh 150 lbs. My small dogs do use it but not often perhaps because they are spoiled and prefer to curl up on my lap.Gave it four stars b/c when I first recieved it the vinyl's odor ? was strong but I aired it out for a few days & now I cannot detect an odor.
