Very strong flavor. Strong fragrance. Great for soup stock, albeit be sparring with any spice or herb (of course). You'll only need a teaspoon for about a gallon of soup, for a mild flavor. A tablespoon might be too strong for most people, though.Be warned, 16 ounces is more than what most people will use, even if they use a lot. Ginger goes a long way in the kitchen because of its strong fragrance and flavor. If you want to try something new, try adding some ginger to some chicken or beef stir-fry, and adding some sweet Mirin rice wine as a finishing touch a few minutes before serving. Onions (especially green onions) in stir-fry really work well with ginger, but not for pork.NOTE: Bag is not resealable. If possible, buy spice bottles to keep fresh. Normally it would take several bottles to hold this much spice/herb in one bottle, but I've found that the beverage bottles linked below make for an epic spice bottle that also makes your kitchen look far more stylish (the recommended product is linked below). This way you don't have to find some weird way to reseal the bag (paperclips, tape, clothespins) after you're done, and you can just put the whole thing in the final bottle all the once. You also get the convenience of being able to close your spice bottle with just one twist, and you can throw away the ugly bag to keep your pantry organized (or keep it outside, to showcase your sense of style). You can even add your own labels on top afterwards, making a very nice gift set of spices and herbs for someone who likes to cook a lot and often runs out of spices.Epica 18-Oz. I love that this powder is STRONG - it packs the punch of fresh ginger! I have been making ginger shots with lemon and habanero pepper powder for about a yr and this is definitely a worthy shortcut!! As always, Frontier is the author of incredible and healthy products...way to go on this powder, guys - yep, simply amazing... 😉

Huge quality product for the price

I love ginger and haven't had it for a few years and I stumbled upon it here and when I read the reviews where people said it was too spicy I said to myself I have to try it!When I cut open the box, I accidentally sliced the non resealable two 16 ounce foil bags that were in a plastic bag. I don't mess around when I open shipping boxes and I could tell I sliced the foil bag. So I took a finger tip full of the ginger around my accidental slice and WOW! There definitely is a bite to it, but notlike a fingertipful of hot chili powder.The powder was pale gold which the picture describes and is a lot lumpier. The two foil bags are not resealable. I just cut the top off of one with a scissors and poured them in my containers. Easy pouring.I took the end of my teaspoon and filled it. I don't know if most put a full teaspoonful in and perhaps that's why to some it was super hot, but a teaspoon endful was plenty for my hot tea.When I ordered it and it had those choices of a schedule, and the "one time only delivery" I asked about that after I ordered because I'd never seen that before and if I liked this ginger I didn't want to be on a schedule with automatic deductions because who knows if it's ever discontinued and it doesn't go out if you'll be refunded.This is very good ginger. It's worth the price. It's got just enough bite and it's by no means as tame as store bought, at least with me. These two bags will last months and when the time comes I'll definitely re-order.

Great flavor, packaging and $16 is great but the last two orders I got only shipped one bag instead of two. 10/10 if I could get my full package. maybe someone at amazon is skimming the ging off the top lol

Had two packages so easy to store for future

One bag Fits perfectly into 3 Glass Pint jars for storage. I use it every day in my coffee. Recipe- I learned many years ago, Fresh Coffee, milk/ Cream, honey, ginger to taste. For those of us that love ginger, you just can’t beat it, it’s like having a ginger cookie in the morning! I also use this ginger for making Soups, Baking, Marinades, Chutneys , Thai cooking, Kombucha, to name a few. Truly, you can’t go wrong. This company is wonderful. The product is a great, it always seems fresh and tasty. If you store it properly, The flavor last along time. But why store it? when there’s so many ways to use it.
