cheap - but it works. I installed this in the plastic trim on the hatch of my 2008 Expedition (where the window button is) with a Jensen VX7020. This is designed to point down and not install in a bumper. While the included hole saw is a pinch too small, I was drilling in plastic so a file quickly fixed that. I put silicone on the flange before installing it, and also covered the entire back of the camera with silicone to try and prevent water leaks as some other reviewers mentioned. The only real problem is that the license plate lights wash out the image a little at night - but I don't think that is the fault of the camera. I may try adding a shield to the lights if I get ambitious. I wired the 12 volt lead to my backup lights by running the red wire inside the hatch, though the boot, and down into the light well. This lead was way too short and had to be extended. I picked up ground at the window switch in the hatch. The camera input uses an included 20 foot extension which just made it to the head unit. An extra foot or two would have been nice. The extension cable has the ends already installed so it can be a challenge pulling it through the headliner. I removed the passenger door seal and snaked it through in two steps using an electrician snake. I wish I installed this years ago - may have saved my bumper from that tree, and the rock!

LINES - NOWHERE IN THE DESCRIPTION DOES IT SAY THERE ARE DISTANCE LINES BUILT IN. ALSO, YOU HAVE TO MOUNT IT HORIZONTALLY UNDER SOMETHING HORIZONTAL.1. I have been specifically searching for a rear-view camera WITHOUT THE DISTANCE MARKERS!!!!! Does anyone make such a thing? I bought three different rear-view cameras from three different sellers all at the same time on Amazon. All came on the same day. All have CRAPPY manuals (meaning one tiny page with bad English, and lots of Chinese and not helpful at all). ALL have the stupid distance markers that I DID NOT WANT! The description says NOTHING about the distance markers.2. It has to mounted HORIZONTALLY on the BOTTOM of a HORIZONTAL surface! WTF!?!?!?! I bought this for an RV with, (DUH!) a VERTICAL back wall. This just simply does not work. I would have to fabricated a separate 90 degree mounting bracket, then mount this camera to that, and well, since i DON'T WANT THE STUPID LINES, it won't for my application anyway. I want a full-time rear view camera, not one simply for the rare occurrence when backing up.I am frustrated and mad with all of these dang crappy rear-view cameras. I am sending them all back, including this one.DOES ANYONE SELL A REAR-VIEW CAMERA **** WITHOUT ***** THE STUPID LINES??AND DOES ANYONE SELL ONE THAT WILL MOUNT ON A VERTICAL SURFACE?????Not happy at all. I am returning this as the description online said nothing about the lines or the screwed up stupid backwards mounting technique.

I received this product in hope of installing it on a Pickup Tailgate Handle. To an extent the description is correct, but there are flaws. The camera is intended to be used so that the camera points down and this is true, it would work great on a tailgate handling look pretty close to an OEM solution. I just tested this camera with the TV in my living room and the flaw I found was that if there is something on the left (driver) side of your vehicle, the object would show up on the right side of the monitor. My other vehicles have factory installed backup cameras, and show it the other way around. I was looking for a reversed image but this camera is not capable of doing so. It did have the red, yellow, and green guide lines, and seemed to be durable and had decent quality (hooked up to a 32" tv). For under $20.00 this is a great product, but for the picky people like myself just move on and go for a higher quality product.

Beware the "mirror image" feature. This is a good little camera but the image, as others noted, is basically upside down and Not like a factory camera. Imagine backing up looking between your legs instead of over your shoulder. Ok for a hitch camera, but useless for a backup camera, an object moving will actually be coming from the opposite side as shown on the monitor. Had me fooled, I even took my install apart figuring the ccd turned in the housing during install. Nope, it's epoxied in place, so this is what they must intend. Otherwise great unit, fit mine in keyhole of gate handle, looks right down on hitch. Really tiny power wires, like 28 ga., hard for DIYers to properly secure.

For the price, this camera cannot be beat. It looks and performs as well as the $100 cameras they sell at Best Buy and Car Toys. Installation is simple (the directions in the box are non-existent) if you know what you are doing. It performs perfectly in the day and performs pretty well at night with a minimal amount or grain in the picture. It does not perform as well as the factory installed model in some of the other cars I have owned but for what it cost....an awesome buy.

"Just okay" is how I would describe it. Image quality is okay, but not great. Installation was as easy as can be expected.Only real problem is the field of view is too narrow. It can only see what is directly behind you, so you still need to look all around the car when reversing. Some cameras have a wider FOV, so you can reverse while watching the camera without having to turn your head at all.

It is hard to get more in a rear view camera for the price. The quality is good and mounting is very easy with the included hole saw.My mistake was miss reading the description. I was looking for a camera for the FRONT of my car, not the rear, the description states mirror view, I misunderstood that to have the ability to reverse or have normal view. This camera is intended for the REAR of the car only. It still does what I wanted it to do, mounted in front but my view in the display is reversed left to right. Again my fault for miss reading the description. Otherwise it is a nice little camera if ultra low light is not a requirement.
