Shimano TL-BT03 S Hydraulic Disc Brake Bleed Kit

If you have the 2011 or newer XT, XTR, SLX brakes, this kit is kind of a must. However, the only really critical part is the funnel. I wish this came with just the funnel. The syringe part is mostly useless and the hose won't stay connected to the bleed nipple once any of the oil has gotten on the hose. You can do way better with the funnel and then some cheap hose from Home Depot, and some sort of catch bottle. The shimano how to video on YouTube isn't nearly as useful as the one on Pinkbike.com.Anyway, get this kit, but don't plan on really using the syringe for anything. It doesn't come with a catch bottle so you'll need to find your own, also, if you can find a mini hose clamp to keep the hose on the nipple, that would dramatically help too.

It works as advertised, but I wish the tubing was much longer. This kit is really just a helper in my opinion, not a pure fit perfect solution for the problem. There likely isn't one. I always feel like I need 3 arms, each a bit longer to really do this correctly. Even using a stand.I've spilled and wasted so much brake fluid it is silly. I don't know how techs manage to do it perfectly if they use this gear.

works as described , i bought it to shorten my brake hose.i think shimano designed the new master so you have to use this type of tool. believe me, ive tried cutting and bleeding without this tool, almost impossible. the old design brake system,i wouldnt need it. the price is steep for plastic , read the manual and it shows also needing a different tool for the old system. oh by the way ive got the shimano m785 xt brakes with servo wave levers

I have bled many a brake in my day and this setup was just junky. The hose loves to blow off the syringe. The little thing designed to grip onto the brake caliper is dubious at best. I'm sure that Shimano is somewhat to blame here for the fittings design they choose to use, but not an easy brake to bleed. Finally, this DOES NOT come with any fluid, so be sure to pick that up too.Is it useable at all? Yes. Is it fun and easy? No way Jose.

The bleeder kit works fine but no way is it worth the money.The plastic cup that fits on the brake lever is the only thing you really need.But again it does the Job.

Works as expected. The little plastic clip to hold hose on nice touch, otherwise hose will fall off.

Works perfectly and easy to do. Just be careful the injector doesn't slip off the nipple when applying pressure. I used tape to cover the pads as well just to be on the safe side.

Bleed your own brakes and save $$ instead of taking it to the shop. Shimano brakes are the easiest to bleed. I can do my XT brakes in 15 minutes.
