elago Controller Grip Compatible with Nest Learning Thermostat® 3rd & 2nd Generation (Red) - Harmless Silicone Material, Improve Grip, Easy Installation (Not Compatible with 1st Generation, E, 2020)

I bought this primarily because I didn't like the silver colored ring on my Nest thermostat and thought this would be an easy way to change the color. It fits so well you really can't even tell the thermostat has been modified. The grip easily slips on (and off if you ever want to remove it), looks nice, and feels great to the touch. I personally think it feels nicer than the original metal material. It completely covers up the original color of the Nest ring and fits in perfectly with the circular Elago wall plate for those that want to replace the default Nest wall plate as well.

Just installed, love the looks and feel, I bought it together with black aluminum wall plate.Not used it long enough to see how it fares overtime, this review is purely for the look and feel of the thing.The plastic material does not feel cheap to touch, is soft, doesn’t attract lint or dust, seems easy to wipe clean. Completely hides color of original thermostat underneath.

Perfect fit and looks great. Let’s hope it stands the test of time. I will update in a year. Very easy to install.

Installation is as simple as sliding it forward over the front of your Nest. This protects the surface of the ring on the Nest, allows aesthetic customisation, and decreases the amount of effort needed to rotate the ring. The only downside is that it is prone to collecting small amounts of dust, but it is made of silicone so that's to be expected. This can be easily remedied by removing the grip and washing it with a mild soap.

We bought a Nest at Costco (which I love). Problem was it only came in the black color and looked terrible against our light-colored wall. I looked into getting a white Nest but it was too costly. Then, low and behold, I found this little cover to snap right over the top of the controller. Instant color change and it looks sooooo much better! A nice little extra is that it's easier to grip to turn the dial. Love it!

I've been really happy with this thermostat so far. Was easy to install, the controls are intuitive, and it is allowing me to better manage my heating/cooling costs.

The advertised product was all it said it would be. The installation was simple and it covers the irregularities on the wall where the old thermostat was mounted. Since I installed this during the replacement of the old thermostat, it took minutes to mount with the Nest. This cover is dark gray but the flash lightens the appearance. I am extremely pleased with the appearance, ease of installation, and the color!

Pops on in 2 seconds, looks great. Didn't have any issues with grip before, so no real difference there. Mostly bought it because I didn't want to buy another Nest to have a black one. Matches my fixtures much better now.

My previous copper frame was damaged and Google sent me a silver color one, I dont like the look of it and this Controller Grip elevated its looks, awesome
