Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm FLX Ultra Quiet SSO-Bearing Computer Case Fan - New

The primary reason I'm writing this is to help others who, like me, were confused by the multiple search results for this model number. In particular, there's another listing that's a little more expensive that looks like the exact same product and also has a number of sellers (many in common with this listing). I thought perhaps this listing was either mis-labeled or perhaps an OEM version.Well, happily, I ordered the product in this listing and got a new, retail boxed NF-P14 FLX. My order was from Tyler Direct, but Fulfilled by Amazon, BTW.As for the product itself, there are many reviews that cover it well. I will just add a few observations. First, having recently installed two other current-generation 1200 RPM Noctua fans, I was neither surprised nor disappointed by the performance of this one.My second observation is that the fan includes rubberized mounts only as part of the extenders for installing in holes designed to accommodate standard 140 mm fans. If you mount this fan using screw holes spaced for 120 mm fans, and you can't or don't use their rubber mounting nubs, then the plastic frame of the fan will contact whatever you're mounting it against. In contrast, my other Noctua fans, which are both square-framed, have removable rubber pads integrated directly into the frame. This is an issue, for me, as I'm installing on a heatsink that uses special clips and cannot accept the rubber nubs. It's slightly disappointing, but not enough to deduct a star.Finally, the direction of airflow is opposite that of all my other fans (Noctua included). It sends air towards the side with more dark brown plastic visible. There's no possibility I simply plugged it in wrong, since it's connected directly to a keyed motherboard fan header that previously worked as expected with another fan. This shouldn't be a problem if you're aware of it, since the fan can be mounted facing either direction.It's a good fan. Not silent (at full speed), but probably one of the quietest 140 mm fans at that speed.

This "austrian" designed fan, along with every other noctua fan uses SSO dynamic bearings, which i find to be one of the best in terms of long term use, whereas rifle bearings and double ball bearings start making grinding noises after months of use, All my noctua fans have performed admirably and still doThis particular one, i use for my 140mm radiator, however, there is quite some air leakage, so a fan shroud was needed to bring its rad performance up to par.Most users however will most likely use this as a case fan, and in that aspect, this fan should pretty much be in the top 3 choices for any body with the means to afford it.the color scheme is love/hate. With this one though, do not think about painting it, you cannot remove the fan from the chassis.Though 140mm, this fan fits 120mm holes, with metal adapters so 140mm holes can be fitted too. also comes with low noise and ultra low noise adapters (basically making your fan spin slower).Expensive fan, but you do get what you pay for.

This fan is awesome!I built a silent beast with the help of Noctua.I used this as my window fan, and it pulls the heat away from my video card like nobody's business.I use the low noise adapter, and it still pushes plenty of air while being completely silent.While playing games at max with a 660TI at full load,this fan still keeps up with the cooling even with the low noise adapter installed.I have a Noctua for my CPU cooling fan as well.Even while playing Battlefield 3 at MAX @ 1080P, I can pause the game in a silent room andyou still can't even hear my PC. Amazing!The mounts on my window are for a 120mm fan, but the vent is round and extends past the screw holes.This fan matches up with the opening perfectly, forcing all the air out the window.The vibration reducing mounts are great; I was surprised how much noise those alone took away from the PC.These are the best PC fans money can buy.If you are serious about cooling, noise or longevity of your system, look no further.

this fan is no longer officially available by Noctua, they sell it now part of the REDUX series, get em while you can. Otherwise you will have to settle for the redux verison, which are shades of gray but do come with PWM, but lack anti vibration mounts which can be bought separately.Fan is great, I personally love this color scheme, it is iconic and I hope they don't do away with it. It is quiet, at full speed you kind of hear it, but only when you try to hear it. The noise is comparable to a very low hum, depending what is right in front or behind it, wind noise can differ depending on what kind of restriction it is pulling or pushing the air through. So not everyone will have the same result, just keep that in mind. But this one should be a safe bet for most people.I use those as case fans for my Thermaltake V71, which I have replaced the stock 200mm fans with, which were quiet, but now it is nearly dead silent.

When I first built my computer, I ended up using the 6 120mm fans that came with my case. The cooling was great, but the sound was like an airplane taking off.After several years of putting up with this, I decided to do something about it. I replaced all of the fans with these 4x Noctua 120mm and 2x Noctua 140mm fans. The difference was startling -- pretty much dead silent, and still enough airflow to more than adequately cool the system. One thing I hadn't thought of: for the first time, I could actually hear the GPU fans spin up without being drowned out by the case fans.I'm absolutely happy with my purchase, but I can't imagine the Noctuas are that much better than other silent fans to be worth the premium. If these ever drop to a more reasonable price, I'd change to five stars.

Noctua fans are not cheap, but they pay you back in the lifetime from you and the machine where these are build in. Other brands tries to copy them for many years, with no results at all. Noctua, high end case fans, or cpu coolers. Quiet operations, and longterm use. And with the Cromax series, they're also fitting perfect in your DYI pc case.

Um dann den Lüfter, mit den Gummipuffern, am Gehäuse zu befestigen.Die genauen Abmasse des Lüfters sind: 141mm Durchmesser, 26mm HöheDer eine Stern Abzug:Das grösste Problem ist bei 140mm Lüftern, ein schönes ordentliches Abdeckgitter zu bekommen.Bei diesem Preis für den Lüfter dürfte man eigentlich mindestens ein Gitter in der Packung erwarten.Dazu hat dieser Lüfter ja das Merkmal ein 14cm Lüfter zu sein, aber einen Lochabstand eines 12cm Lüfters zu haben.Wenn man jetzt ein 12cm Gitter nimmt, ist leider ein Teil nicht abgedeckt.

Vorweg, ich habe einen wahren Marathon von verschiedenen Lüftern hinter mir, da ich extrem anspruchsvoll bin.Lediglich 3 Hersteller konnten mich überzeugen, einer davon ist Noctua.Die angegebenen Drehzahlen stimmen, leider ist aber der Luftzug trotz aller Innovation beim Flügeldesign zu hören, wenn auch nur bei 100% Leistung.Ich hatte ausserdem mit dem Problem der Resonanz zu kämpfen, da ich auch 4 12cm Lüfter im Gehäuse habe, welche zusammen mit den 3 14cm Lüftern(einer ist ein blauer Alpenföhn) das Gehäuse zum Vibrieren brachten (cooler Effekt, leider sehr nervig beim Zocken oder Film schauen).Naja, nur noch der untere Alpenföhn läuft mit 100%, einer läuft auf 90%, einer auf 85% und einer auf 80%, dann ging es, Effekt verschwunden.2 NF-P14 habe ich verbaut, beide davon im Deckel meines Fractal Design R2 Gehäuses. Staubfilter an beiden Öffnungen, denn leise rieselt nicht nur der Schnee.Da ist nun auch der Nachteil: Die Noctua NF-P14 haben selbst bei 100% Leistung kaum statischen Druck. Das heisst, für dichte Filter oder zum Ansaugen kalter Luft(wie bei einem Lüfter im Boden des Gehäuses) würde ich andere Lüfter empfehlen. Das konnte ich sogar per Hand feststellen, so groß ist der Unterschied zum Alpenföhn Modell.Die 3 bei mir verbauten 12cm Lüfter Noctuas (NF-P12) sind auch laut Website besser in diesem Punkt, das heisst, sie bauen mehr Druck auf. Perfekt in meinem Fall für die Staubfilter vorn.Habe auch den CPU Kühler Noctuas (Noctua NH-C12P SE14), jedoch ohne diesen Lüfter, der sitzt in meinem Gehäuse. Habe statt dessen das Referenzmodell von Alpenföhn in der 12cm Ausgabe drauf.Leuchtet auch so schön lila :S , hat aber vor allem deutlich mehr Druck, was bei meiner CPU schon im Leerlauf nochmal fast 5c° ausmachte.Fazit also: Preis ist es wert, so leise bei dem Durchlauf ist keiner, höchstens mit mehr Druck für noch etwas mehr Geld. Daher 5 Sterne.

I'm still using this thing years later. It was originally my middle fan on a NH-D14 CPU heatsink and now I've switched it out for a faster RPM version that'll achieve slightly more aggressive cooling of the heatsink, relegating this NF-P14 FLX rather appropriately to the back-end of my case. If there's going to be a brown fan in my system, it seems fitting that it should be there...

Dem Lüfter liegt alles bei, die Bauform ist interessant und praktisch zugleich, da sich dieser 140er Lüfter auch in kleinere Schächte einbauen lässt sofern rundum genügend Platz vorhanden ist.Flüsterleise würde ich ihn jetzt aber nicht bezeichnen. Ich hatte schon leisere Lüfter in der Hand, die bei stärkerem "Wind" weniger Geräusche gemacht haben.Aber selbst jetzt nach über einem halben Jahr funktionieren sie an sich wunderbar trotz massiver Staubbelastung (bedingt durch meinen Wohnort) drehen aber auf Minimaldrehzahl. Möglich, weil Computer ist wassergekühlt, dieser Lüfter wälzt nur die Luft im Gehäuse um um das Mainboard zu kühlen, dazu ist er saugend in die Seitenwand montiert. Das funktioniert auch gut, für meine Zwecke also ausreichend.Wer mehr Kühlung braucht, wird wohl mehrere davon verbauen müssen um sie entsprechend auf Minimaldrehzahl zu betreiben, dann da nimmt das Fördervolumen doch erheblich und unproportional ab.Aber Zubehör ist gut dabei, der Lüfter qualitativ hochwertig und teilweise innovativ. 1 Stern Abzug also nur, aufgrund dessen, dass andere Lüfter in Sachen Lautstärke einfach ne Spur besser sind. Leider kann ich dazu keine aktuellen Empfehlungen ausgeben. Im Zweifel erfüllt dieser Lüfter sicherlich seinen Zweck.
