7440 LED Backup Reverse Light

Got these while doing a LED conversation on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The install was a pain in the a--, but that was because of the car, not the bulb. Worked like it should, looks great, crisp and bright. Hopefully they last. So far would recommend.

Hopefully people will see these bright white lights before my 16 year old is able to back over them. They don’t flicker. Bulbs seem to be good quality. Good fit on her 2012 Mazda 3. Good value.

LEDs are known to have issues in cold weather, but at just below freezing I did not expect these bulbs to fail (2 months outside the 1 year warranty). The bulbs don't stay illuminated in cold weather. I do not have these problem with their T5 wedge bulbs on the same vehicle. The LEDs are much brighter than regular bulbs, so I wish they worked. Contacted Sirius and they immediately sent my a tracking number for a replacement set even though I was outside of warranty.

These guys are a perfect fit - they snap into place just like the OEM bulbs (make sure you push til you hear a click). The brightness is very good, although not overwhelmingly more powerful than the original bulbs.. but they're much whiter and seem to do a better job illuminating the area compared to the honey-colored "dying flashlight" appearance of the original ones. I took the included picture after replacing only the left one, to show a fair comparison - don't trust any pics that show ONLY new bulbs OR only the old ones, camera exposure varies too much for that to be a reliable metric.

Love the bright lights

I was hesitant at first to make the switch from regular bulbs to LEDs. However, I am glad I did. These bulbs at least doubled (or more) the rear view vision at night for backing up, especially in my long, dark driveway. They fit well and were relatively easy to install. Installation is car dependent. My 1999 LS400 was moderately easy for such an "overbuilt" vehicle. I can't rate longevity. Years will tell.

I changed from my incandescent back up light to this LED backup light in my 2018 Fiat 124 Spider. The original light was good but not great in dim or dark conditions. Your field of view in the backup camera was limited in the dark by the light. After I installed this LED light I can see quite a bit further and wider which is what I was hoping for. It was easy to change from the incandescent to the LED. Really easy! I will not comment on longevity of the LED as I have only had it a few days however it is reported that LED lights last a long time. My experience is that some do and some don’t. This seems to be a well designed and manufactured LED light. I would highly recommend this switch for safety reasons in backing up your vehicle in the dark.

I got today and i was so excited , I have ford explorer 2021 , and i was planing to replace my oem reverse bulb with LED , after i replaced the led reverse the LED isn't stable ( blink every 2 second ) I tried different LED and works fine.

I was looking for more light behind my 2023 Honda Ridgeline when I am backing down a dark laneway to our trailer. I thought the simplest way, other than installing axillary lighting under the bumper, would be to upgrade the backup light bulbs that came stock with the truck. I installed SIR IUS LED - FT- 7440 LED Backup Reverse light bulbs and they helped to provide more light for my backup camera. These are pretty much plug-and-play for installation. The only concern is that the bases of the bulbs do not lock in the lamp sockets as positively as the original bulbs they replaced. I was concerned they might drop out of the sockets when on bumpy roads but so far so good and they have stayed in place. They have been in use for about 3 months now so time will tell how long they will last but they were a cost-effective upgrade and I would purchase them again. I have included before and after pictures showing the difference in the brightness level of the new LED bulbs Vs the originals.
