I actually towed my Elise with it.
I bought this hook for looks. However the other day I forgot to leave my Elise on the trickle charger and it died on me about 10 blocks from home. A good samaritan offered to tow me behind him. I took a risk since I was more worried about a tow truck damaging the car.Went over tracks and everything, worked and still looks cool too!

I’m not sure if this is just my car or not. I have a 2005 Elise. The portion that screws in with the tow hook hits the grill when screwed in enough. Screwing in more will break the grill. I’m going to experiment with buying a buy to screw in with the tow hook so I can tighten it that way instead of relying on the grill for tension. I’ll report back and update my rating if this works. I’ll lower the rating if it does not barring that this is normal for an Elise.Edit:In the end, I didn’t end up using my hardware but did experiment with fitting the tow hook more. Although there is some pressure on the front grill, I think any damage that could occur would be minimal.
