Blue Desert

very good music some what pricey but its probably the best record ever made i wish it had a hard couver instead of the paper one

First off,I can't believe that I'm the first person to review this album on amazon.Maybe its reputation precedes itself to the degree that it would be a redundancy.Anyhow,I'm sure that 90% of the people who end up reading this know Blue Desert to be on the top ten list of(I'm assuming here)fans of the L.A. studio sound(as a genre known as Westcoast).All the best studio guys like Jay Graydon(who produced),keyboardist Michael Omartian(played on a lot of the 70's Steely Dan albums).I could bore the crap outta ya listing them all.I'll say just this--this album's in its own league--I think Jordan's writing was off the beaten path--something obscure,yet upbeat,somehow just the littlest bit sarcastic,but with really rhythmic smooth groove behind it.In short,buy this--you won't regret it!

I stumbled across Marc Jordan on youtube a few months ago. Honestly, I was not familiar with his music. This album is an awesome West Coast / Adult Contemporary album. Great sax and guitar solos as well as lots of late 70s/early 80s electric piano. Check out the songs: Generalities, I Am A Camera, and Beautiful People.I picked up the album for $9.00 on i*t u n e s.

Era il lontano 1979 quando Marc Jordan al suo secondo Album da solista ci regalava questo prezioso lavoro "Blue Desert" un classico album West Coast Oriented magistralmente prodotto dal grande Jay Graydon che per l'occasione offriva anche il proprio talento con la sei corde ... Altri incredibili musicisti si cimentano nell 'album (Bill Champlin, Jeff Porcaro, Pete Christlieb, Michael Omartian, Jim Keltner etc.) e le finezze strumentali si susseguono. Ernie Watts al sax termina la lista di ospiti illustri presenti in questo raffinato Album West Coast con splendidi arrangiamenti Fusion... Un altra recensione che sara' apprezzata da pochi come del resto questo genere di musica che cosi' tanto ci ha donato ma che ahimè da noi non ha mai riscosso il suo meritato riscontro.

AORの雰囲気たっぷりの作品！ジャケットが全てをものがたっている。自分はマニアではないが、エアプレイがAORの教科書ならば、この作品ジャケット含めかなり自分好みでジャケットばかり良いドナルドフェイゲンとは大違い。AORそして自身の代表作と言われる所以である事は間違い無い。

グレイドンが目立ち過ぎです。producerがここまで目立っていいのでしょうか？でも、好きなアルバムです。

好き嫌いが分かれるでしょうね。ジェイ・グレイドンは、ギターが上手いですけど弾き過ぎですね。曲も2曲目くらいしか印象に残りませんし、どう考えてもファーストの方が数段良いです。

以前のCDとは何か違うような感じではありますが、アナログで聞いてきた音とも違うと思います　ここ!ここ!と言うところで出てくるグレイドンのギターがいいんです
