Built-in applicator is pretty good
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These labels have a built-in applicator that lets you line up and apply the label using a standard plastic CD case (either an old-fashioned jewel case or a slimline case). It actually works pretty well. It might not be quite as easy to get it perfectly aligned as it is with a dedicated applicator device, but I'm not sure I've ever used a really good one of those. One disadvantage might be that you end up with big holes in the backing after punching out the label. This means it's probably impossible to print one label and use it, then later print the other label on the same sheet. However, if you're NOT using the built-in applicator, then you can probably just peel off the label and still have a whole sheet that you can feed through the printer again (depending on how good your printer's feed mechanism is).The included instructions aren't very good, so I'll post a video showing how it works.Other than that, the labels are what you'd hope. Two CD labels per page, plus four long skinny labels that are supposed to go on the cases' spines. The labels are white. Toner sticks to one side. CDs stick to the other side.

A nice alternative to ink-jet label printers.
This is in reference to "Avery Matte White CD Labels," product number 6692.As a personal historian I provide my clients with Blu-ray or DVD discs that contain their videobiographies. To present a professional appearance, I decided to go for printable labels.I thought I was going to have to buy an ink-jet printer for this task, but a visit to Amazon turned up this product, which is compatible with my HP color laser printer.Today I printed my first labels and all went smoothly. Thanks to the $8 Avery Applicator, a plastic stand that enables you to line up disc and label perfectly, my discs came out looking thoroughly professional.I used a template but in future plan to create my own label designs. And here is one area where Avery falls short. The documentation for the CD Labels product consists of a single 8 1/2 by 11 inch page, printed on both sides. The content is presented in two-column format, with no hierarchy to define the eight different sections. After some study I determined the different sections refer to several different ways to acquire or create label designs. As it turned out, the first of the eight procedures, using Word templates, does not even refer to the product I was using.I'll put up with some extra work to find out how to do custom labels. The important thing is, the labels fit perfectly and look professional.

Perfect for a color laser
Fortunately I researched and looked at reviews on several different sites about DVD labels. It seems that when you have a color laser you must use labels that are specifically made for it according to several reviewers that have tried the regular ones. These work perfectly with my new Brother printer. I did not need to do any alignment what so ever and they come out perfect. Good product.

Excellent - easy to apply and center label on media
These are EXCELLENT!We used them to create invites for our daughter's 3 year old dance party.there is NO NEED to purchase an applicator - they are built into the label. I was worried about centering the labels - but the label structure does it for you. Ingenious design.Would buy again for labeling CD/DVDs.

Returned these because they are NOT for DVD's!
I give 4 stars because it is an Avery Product and using them exclusively in our home office, I have never had issue with them. The fact that I returned them has nothing to do with product efficacy at all. I returned them because they were not the package that is shown in the photo though. They are only for CD's and not DVD's. Just thought I would let you know in case you were purchasing for DVD use like I was. I was told that DVD's turn at a higher speed/get hotter than CD's and that the CD labels would peel off of a DVD with continued use or prolonged use. I am not sure if that is correct, but since mine go out to customers, I didn't want to take a chance on the label peeling up and gumming up their machine at my expense! :)The seller allowed me to return them without hesitation and refunded my money as soon as they received my labels back.

Worked well. The video someone posted about how to apply was very helpful - you do not need to buy an additional product to apply these well.

Excellent Results
I make DVD slide shows of trips for traveling companions and a nice label makes the whole thing look very professional. I use the Avery free software for designing the label and the label applicator and the results look great. I've never used the spine labels - so I can't review them.
