This product works really well for me and my purpose for it. I wanted to utilize active speakers I had to do a home theater without having the bulk of a huge receiver. It had a few added bonus that I have used that I did not know I would. Like the Bluetooth. I can send music to the speakers from my phone from like Pandora or Spotify. My family has gotten a lot of joy from using this device.

Was very excited when I found this as it was a low cost solution to hooking up my surround sound system. The intent was HDMI in and HDMI along with 5.1 sound out using my 5 channel amp and powered sub. Audio wise the unit worked fine and did everything I wanted it for, video was another story. If the output of my Apple TV was 720 or 1080p it worked ok, but when I set it to 4K the picture would constantly strobe or flash. To make sure nothing else in my setup could be the cause I used a connector to hook the input and output HDMI cables together and then the picture was perfect. While I could run it on a lower video setting that's not logical with a 75" TV. I've decided to just purchase a surround sound receiver since my attempt at doing it the inexpensive way didn't work out as planned.

This decoder does everything you would want in it for surround sound. I love it!. I have only one problem, the volume between 0 to 1 and 1 to 2 are loud with out being able to lower the sound any. This happens with any device plugged in to this unit.

Got this in may and the sound is true Dolby the 5.1 works very well in movies and through sky box. I connected through optical to analog output and it sounds amazing. Downside is not much of a menu control on the box so have to setup through the remote.Apart from that I’m very pleased. I’d recommend.

I recently purchased one of these units and cannot seem to get it to pass a signal from any of the HDMI inputs to my BenQ MW612 projector connected to the HDMI output with an HDMI 2.1 cable. The unit decodes 5.1 sound well, and the Bluetooth radio works well. There's no website I can find for further documentation or firmware updates and a query to the support e-mail provided with the product went unanswered after several days. This does not seem to be a well-supported product.

I used this device to send the center channel into a guitar effects pedal. Works as advertised.

Unit shows up as 'Headphone Pair" when initially connecting it to PC via USB. After reading manual, I noticed there is a required driver install for "Correct function" which did allow me to select 5.1 and 7.1 in Windows 10, but this was only virtual surround. I know this because the driver installs a pnp audio controller which becomes visible in the audio settings under the playback tab. You can then see device properties and see it's only recognized as two channels.When doing the windows speaker test, all chimes come from the front speakers while rear and bass speakers are completely ignored.Again, this is all after installing the required audio driver from the manufacturer's site.

Works as advertised bu susceptible to noise interference from various sources. Vollume control too coarse with know and too slow to increase or decrease with remote. Great value performs all functions well.
