These dishes are just a wonderful size for bigger girls!My granddaughter is 7 and was frustrated with her old tiny tea set that only held about 1/2 an ounce in a cup. She and her girls spent more time going back to refill everything during the tea party.This set holds about 3 ounces in a cup. So much better! It's pretty with the gold trim and the lovely shape. It would be nice if it had a case of its own. The box it comes in is sturdy and the dishes pack back into it easily. Before I gave it to her I unpacked it to make sure nothing was broken. As I put it back in I labeled all the cardboard packing with what pieces it went around and that makes it very easy for her to do it on her own when she uses it.I also purchased "DECORA 3.5inch Round Colorful Paper Lace Doilies Wedding Tableware Decoration,Pack of 200" in multi colors for her to use under the tea cup over the saucer. Then, each girl has her own color and can tell which tea cup is hers. Also helps if a little spills over too.The all white with the gold trim is good if your girl is not into "flowery" stuff. It's elegant and grown up! I gave this to her for Christmas and her Mom reports that she uses it every week, can't beat that for getting your moneys worth out of something.

Loved this set in design and suitability for introducing a child to "taking tea">Actually, was looking for a set just a little smaller than this one, but I am keeping it all the same!
