TiVo C00260 Roamio Slide Pro DVR Remote

Bought this to replace the standard Tivo remote that came with my RCN Tivo T6 (actually a Tivo Roamio Plus). Works perfectly, love the flip-out keyboard that works great for search, Netflix and YouTube entry. Especially like the light up remote, very easy to see in a darkened home theater.Bought this to be able to control my Vizio soundbar (as it was not possible with the standard remote). Used the built in codes and worked great. Also used the learning feature to allow for Input button configuration from my Vizio TV that did not pick up automatically. Worked easily and first time. The RF feature is also great so that you don't have to have line-of-sight to the Tivo box to use.Lastly, this is a bit shorter than the standard remote, but is heavier. Feels nice in the hand and I am very happy with the purchase.

I bought my TiVo Bolt right after it came out 4 years ago. Loved it but wanted a remote that was backlit for night time viewing. I don't remember if I bought this from Amazon or directly from TiVo, however, 4 years later it is still going strong!! I have 3 big dogs that have knocked the remote off of tables careening to my concrete floor many times, there is a small crack in the case by the slideout but the functionality remains PERFECT!! And batteries are long lasting compared to the remote I got with my cable box in my bedroom (my Bolt is in my living room). Both tvs get about equal use and the batteries in the TiVo remote last 2-3 times longer and have way more functionality that the cable remote.I hate wasting my time in the search function endlessly moving the directional buttons to the letter I need so the slideout keyboard is the best! I imagine if you play with the slideout it is possible to cut the ribbon inside but this remote isn't a toy.I'm telling you if it can survive my extremely small house with big dogs and concrete floors, it is well worth the money!!I'm not receiving a dime for this review just wanted to share my experience in a product I believe in.

The remote worked beautifully with my Tivo Roamio and Mini but I bought it because I wanted to control my sound/HT systems and it was supposed to be a "learning" remote. I spent hours trying to get it to "learn" the Pioneer Soundbar and JVC FS-7000 remote functions. It was able to learn only the volume up and volume down on the Pioneer, but not power up or any other function. It was also unable to learn the JVC functions. I initially thought I had a defective product so I ordered a replacement. The replacement had exactly the same problems. The Harmony Ultimate One was able to learn all Pioneer and JVC functions within 10 minutes.

This remote is about 3/4 of the size of the standard TiVo remote (the one that comes with a Roamio or Roamio Plus/Pro). It is MUCH easier to use as it is smaller and most thumbs can reach all the buttons without having to slide your hand. It is definitely heavier, in a better way, than the basic TiVo remote. The buttons are responsive. I use the RF function for the TiVo and the IR function for the TV. The slide-out keyboard rocks and feels sturdy. It could easily be my favorite remote.So, why did I only give this four stars? Just about everyone with a TiVo has a separate AV receiver. Although this remote can be configured to control the volume and mute on the receiver, it cannot turn the power on and off. That makes it unusable as a main remote for me. I have to continue to use my Logitech Harmony Smart Control remote (with the hardbutton RF remote) to power the system on and off. I would be happy to ditch the Harmony if the TiVo could just turn the receiver on and off. HDMI CEC works for the receiver volume from the TV, but does not work for receiver power.If you have a TiVo Roamio, this remote is an excellent addition to your setup.

This remote is a must for anyone with a Tivo Premiere or Roamio. A bit smaller than the original remote, it's well made and feels comfortable in your hand. I ordered it for my Premiere and the remote response has greatly improved compared to the original IR (infrared) remote The remote uses RF (radio frequency) to communicate with the Tivo but you need a USB dongle for the Tivo Premiere models. It can function as an IR remote but RF is the way to go. FYI the keyboard only works in RF mode and makes searches so much easier. With IR you need line of sight with the Tivo, in RF mode you don't. Just remember to go into the settings on the Tivo for remote and pair it with your Tivo. Just a word of caution the seller that I purchased it from stated that the USB dongle that is needed to work with the Premiere was NOT included (Roamio Tivos do not need the dongle). I called Tivo to order the dongle and they sent it out to me for free....wow now that's great customer service on their end. Another plus is that you can program your remote to control the basic functions of your TV and or your AVR system (only IR signal for TV and AVR). After months of wasting my time and money with the horrible DVR service with time warner cable I can finally enjoy watching TV again.

Works really well with Cogeco Tivo Box...backlit keys, keyboard good added features. A bit smaller but heavier than std remote, gives it a solid feel.

GARBAGE. Horrible remote. Better off using the standard one that comes with no keyboard and just use the arrows to type on the on screen keyboard. No good. stay away.
