Scholastic Success with Sight Words

For content I would give this 5 stars, but I'm taking one away because there's no color and it is repetitive. I like that the lessons are two pages long so it reiterates what's being taught on the first page and drilling it in. We are a fraction of the way through though and it's the same style lesson throughout. I'd really like some color to add interest as the target audience here is young. I think the perfect age is right after kindergarten. Definitely a good workbook for the lessons but I would pair it with something fun and colorful to make schoolwork time a little more entertaining than these pages.

He is 5 year old and has learned some sight words before doing the workbook. He doesn’t know almost of the sight words presented in the book. There are 2 pages of practice for every set of 5 words. Few word search pages are for review. He did seem to recognize some more words after finishing the book. Also tried to read with him to enhance the recognition. It is a good and easy workbook to do.

This book is an awesome tool. My son who is going into 2nd grade did these without any trouble over summer to prepare.

Highly recommended, got it for the summer from kindergarten to 1st grade. Very helpful.

Bought this for my 5 yr old twins. They love it I had to buy a second one so hey don't have to share. Very easy for me to guide them through the tasks to help them learn the sight words. One section has a missing letter in the word like "_n" and choose the correct word from the list words: the, on, went. Then word searches, fill in the blank in a sentence. Very good and age appropriate tool for learning sight words. Much better than flash cards.
