TiVo Roamio Composite Cable

In terms of a working cable it's a 5 star cable.In terms of length, color, - generally doing what it's supposed to do, it's a 5 star cable.The only reason that I knocked it down to four stars is that it should have come in the box with the TiVo.TiVos are terribly over priced.The deliverables are minimally accessorized.No point in delivering a box that can't be use without all the necessary do-hickies.Granted, there are a lot of customizable/specific do-hickies that one might need.But, this cable is a contrivance.They could have bought out video, left and right audio on the back of the box with three standard RCA jacks.but, noooooo....They had to go a proprietary 3.5 mm plug route... requiring a custom cable, which they sold separately.maybe I'll go back and make that three stars.No way it cost 15 bucks to make.But, if you have to take one giant step backward in technology to use your old standard definition hardware,...Then this is the cable for you.Caveat:This cable simply works.It does not work - well,It does not lay golden eggs.You get baseband video, and decent Left and Right audio.The video is standard definition.So, don't expect HD results.All your old standard definition stuff should work just fine.

I have a Tivo Roamio base model, and I wanted to hook it up to my older Slingbox PRO so that I could stream any program both over the home network and over the Internet (unlike Tivo's Stream device, which honors the DRM of content owners and won't let you stream certain content, and also won't let you stream out over the Internet). My Tivo is hooked up directly to my TV via HDMI, and so I needed a secondary video source for the Slingbox. This cable provides just that via the Roamio's A/V Out jack and the Slingbox's Composite input. I tried a couple of other 3.5mm to Composite cables that I had lying around, and none of them apparently had the right pinout. So this cable worked perfectly, since the Tivo outputs video signal to both the HDMI port and the A/V port at the same time. I'm now able to stream my programs over the Internet wherever I am. Very handy. Granted, the video stream is lower resolution, but when I'm watching on my iPhone or iPad, the degradation in quality isn't discernible.

I needed to connect a Slingbox to my TiVo Roamio and went through the same process ColinATL described in his review five years ago, trying other similar cables I had on hand. I found one that almost worked, but there was a buzz on one audio channel and the video was jittery. This cable however works flawlessly, and saved me the trouble of having to buy an HDMI splitter and an HDMI-> component adapter. Of course it's a pretty low-res composite output on the A/V port but that's not really a deal-killer for remote streaming. If anything it may help reduce overall bandwidth usage.

I was going nuts tring to record from my OTA Roamio to my stand alone dvd recorder, since the Roamio has no rca outputs. I had a generic cable that looks like this, but it just hummed. I saw in the customer reviews that you had to have THIS one, and it would work. Well, it recorded to TV perfectly, no problem. But I have HDMI to TV, I wanted to connect to my dvd recorder. It makes no sense, but after 2 weeks of experimenting, I discovered if I use the DVD recorder's HDMI output to TV, then the recorder would record! But not with either of the other two outputs, it would not record. It doesn't make sense to me, but if you are trying to get your dvd recorder to work, try the HDMI output to TV. It worked for me, so I am very happy!!!

While it's a straight composite cable (no S-Video, let alone analog component output), it lets you output from your TiVO Roamio OTA to a DVD recorder, or use an old-style analog television monitor. I don't know if that limitation is Weaknees' or TiVO's, though - and would appreciate clarification.Composite video isn't anywhere near the quality your HD TiVO will show you, but it's good enough for copying off television episodes you might want to watch later, or making copies of content you want to keep for personal reasons (like when my wife does appearances on local television). Unlike a vanilla 1/8"- composite video cable, the Weaknees cable - just works, right out the date, and comes highly recommended for that reason.

It does exactly what it's supposed to... connect my high-tech TiVo Roamio to my ancient, non-HD 27 inch Sony Trinitron television.Don't get me wrong, my TV still does exactly what it's supposed to ... display a picture. It's just a 4x3 display as opposed to a newer fancy 16x9 one.Is it just me, or do companies penalize people who don't immediately, or refuse to, invest in newer entertainment technology?My TV is essentially a monitor now. I can't get OTA signals because the tuner inside is analog.My new TiVo didn't come installed with the older component video cable outputs.So I had to buy this little $14 product to help me see a picture.Oh well.. I guess that's technology, isn't it?Machines replaced manual labor.The car replaced horse and buggy.Computers replaced everything else.Smart phones replaced our memories.Luckily I have my TiVo to help keep me distracted.

This review is for the TiVo Roamio Composite Cable sold by Weeknees DVR Superstore. I got a TiVo for my mother as she was ready to drop her video provider and go with free over the air broadcasting. She had only an old TV with RCA and coax input and I tried a HDMI to Analog converter which did not work. The TiVo had an output for RCA cables but it was a single output instead of one each for yellow, white and red. I found this cable on Amazon and figured I'd give it a try. It was exactly as pictured and described on Amazon and worked perfect to connect the TiVo to her TV via RCA connection. She canceled her video provider and is saving a lot of money every month now and is very happy.
